INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT
PRESENTED BY: HEEL TURN X BANSITH

We’re delighted to announce that on Saturday 8th March 2025 we will be putting on a special half dayer to celebrate International Women’s Day!

This event came together as a collaboration with Tasha from Bansith, and we’ve worked together to plan out the show and the bands involved. All the bands on the bill contain exceptional women from our local music scene.

Co-headliners are symphonic metallers Aonia and shoegaze specialists New Ghost. Two very different bands with one thing in common – they are both brilliant.

Direct support comes from alternative metallers Bansith, and cow-themed instrumental prog geniuses Bovidae!

Also featured on the bill are melodic metallers Adele De'Ath, hard rockers Jack-knife, bombastic rock duo STAR DAME and alt rock/grungesters Vortex Town!

The show is at Corporation and starts at 4pm in the day in question. Tickets are £10, or £13 on the door (though bands will be able to offer cheap ticket deals, so seek them out!).

Not a show of ours, but an important one. Our friends in Against The Grain have decided to call it quits and tonight is your last chance (as it stands) to see them live.

We wish them all well in their future projects and we look forward to seeing where they all end up. ATG have been one of our favourite bands to book over the years - never less than brilliant, always fun and always the life of the party.

** Another Sheffield M2TM 2025 Final Announcement **

Hot on the heels of confirming symphonic black metal legends Hecate Enthroned as headliners for the show, as well as direct support coming from Sheffield M2TM 2024 winners IL, we can now exclusively reveal the three bands that will open our all dayer next year.

Opening the show will be Aonia! Winners of Sheffield M2TM 2018, this troupe mix elements of Symphonic Metal, Operatic Metal, Progressive Metal and Power Metal to create a wonderfully epic sound!

They will be follow onstage by Deformation of Man! One of the longest running and enduring groups in the Sheffield heavy scene, these chaps came out of a near half-decade hiatus to triumph at Sheffield M2TM 2019. They are now back once more with a revamped line-up and ready to take a sledgehammer to your ears with their mix of groove metal, metalcore and extreme metal!

Last but absolutely not least, our final opener (or matinee headliner?) will be our great friends in Kilonova! If you've been to our M2TM shows over the years (or attending Thrashlines back in the day) you may have come across this stellar squad from Newcastle. Victorious in the 2018 edition in their hometown, they gone from strengh-to-strength are, simply put, one of the best thrash bands in the UK today!

So there you have it. These three, plus IL and Hecate Enthroned are our guest bands for the Sheffield M2TM Final for 2025. And we still have the 5 finalists to add to it too! Mark down the date - Saturday 24th May - it's gonna be an absolute rager!

Support comes from two of the city's premier rock acts in Dead Blonde Stars and Lowdrive!

HECATE ENTHRONED TO HEADLINE M2TM SHEFFIELD 2025 FINAL

We are overjoyed to announce that legendary British symphonic black metallers Hecate Enthroned are out special guest headliners for the Metal 2 the Masses Sheffield 2025 final!

Formed around 1995 in Wrexham, the now mostly Cheshire based chaps have been at the forefront of forward thinking heavy music for the best part of 30 years.

The show will mark a rare appearance in the city, and a special one for front frontman Joe Stamps (also of Ba'al and Child of Ash) who is a steel city resident.

No doubt the band will be playing prime cuts from across their discography, including their most recent album, 2019's Embrace of the Godless Aeon. It will be banger after banger.

To celebrate me (Gaz) getting out of hospital, we're going to cheekily announce the guest headliners to next year's M2TM Semi-Finals!

We're chuffed to be able to announce four former M2TM Winners from across the north will be guest headlining our Semi-Finals!

Friday 21st March - Divided By Design - Leeds Winners 2024
Friday 28th March - Hellbearer - Manchester Winners 2024
Friday 11th April - Rogue Limb - Nottingham Winners 2024
Friday 2nd May - Dead Blonde Stars - Sheffield Winners 2023.

For anyone unaware of these stellar acts... DBD are instrumental prog metal, Hellbearer are blistering thrash and Rogue Limb are a unique mix of hardcore, sludge and a few other elements. And, of course, DeadBlondeStars are the best grunge band in Sheffield!

Keep an eye out for event pages, ticket links, etc. For now, get these dates in your diaries!

Thanks for all the bands that have already contacted us regarding M2TM Sheffield 2025. It's heartening to see so many emails pop up on the back of a post made on a Sunday evening.

That being said, incase you missed it, applications are now open for M2TM Sheffield 2025.

The initiative has many benefits - obviously, one winner gets to play Bloodstock. Just ask any members of Ba'al, Aonia, Deformation of Man, Terminal Sun, Steel Mage, Dead Blonde Stars or IL just how bloody great the experience is - well worth it.

It's also worth it for others that play. The shows are generally some of the most well attended, especially for cross-genre shows, so bands will get to play in front of a lot of receptive new folks and try and get new fans. Also, if you manage to get to the final, you get to play on the main stage at Corporation Sheffield - something that is quite a rare opportunity for local acts.

So, with that being said, if you're interested in taking part, please email "M2TM Sheffield 2025 Application" to either: [email protected] or [email protected].

In the body, please attach your EPK. If you don’t have an EPK then please provide us with:

• a list of band members and the instruments you play.
• your genre.
• Band bio.
• Song links / clips

Scoring is the same as previous years - a split between fan voting and a judging panel. First Round is a 50/50 split in terms of weghting of score, Semis are 75/25 in favour of the judges. The final is judged by a representative of Bloodstock.
