Happy Easter, friends! ♥️🐣 🐰
28 | Vibrant
Day 28 of the .
27 | live every day with intention
Day 27 of the reminds me that I don’t want to just exist. I want to thrive. In order to do that - I must live with intention.
There may have been a time in my life when I “let life happen to me”. But I made a decision to change that. Living with purpose works for me and it doesn’t mean that there is no room for spontaneity and flexibility - it just means that I know that tomorrow is not promised, so I want each day to count.
Live and love with intention. ♥️
26 | love with all your heart
Did you know I have a thing for red hearts - especially red, skinny, folksie hearts? The deeper the red, the better? ♥️ Day 27 of is all ♥️
I also love “found hearts” that I find out in the wild, in nature, where you wouldn’t normally see a heart, or any heart shape out there that reminds me I’m loved. 🥰
When somebody I know and love finds a heart out there in the wild and they send it to me - oh my word. Makes my day!
Love with all your heart! ♥️ It’s the only way to love. ☺️
25 | 100 Years Old
Day 25 of the and March 13,2024 would have been my Grandmother’s 100th birthday. I often think about how special it was for me to get to live with my grandparents for a couple years when I was young. My Grandmother especially taught me so many things that I carry in my life to this day. We had a thing for Lily of the Valley that grew wild in the shady side yard. It will always remind me of this angel, my Grandma Esther. ♥️
24 | together is the best place to be
Day 24 of the had me thinking of my 3 sisters. We live so far from each other and I really do wish things could be different! We have a great long distance relationship, but I know it would be even better if there weren’t so much distance between us. ♥️
23 | Flourish
The little bit of embossed texture on this one was fun! Day 23 of
22 | find joy in the ordinary
Loving the layers of ephemera, string, stickers and ink on this 22nd day of the !
19 | breathe
Day 19 of has me doing my version of poppies again. Am I looking at a picture of poppies for inspo? No. Am I looking at actual poppies for inspo? Also no. I just know I like these colors together so I do poppies a lot. And they are never the same 😅 Oh well. I never claimed to be a trained artist. 🤷🏻♀️
I had an emotionally rough day today. I may have even shed tears. I still went to the gym after work (it was not work that made me cry), attempted some new things there and got an amazing work out. I then did the dry sauna, steam room, and COLD PLUNGE.
All throughout I kept reminding myself to just BREATHE. I got home and my sweet Marco had dinner ready. I ate and then sat to paint. I was able to take deep breaths and just let go of the thoughts that plagued me all morning.
Sometimes that’s all you need to do. Sometimes, it’s all you can do. BREATHE. ♥️
18 | Euphoria
Day 18 of
I had just come back from the gym and was scrolling through ig when I saw a repost by my cousin . The photo itself could be AI for all I know, but I was immediately inspired by the colors and beauty of it.
It actually made me stop and smile. I was trying to think of something to write when I decided to just pull a word from my word jar.
First word was EUPHORIA.
Euphoria is the experience (or affect) of pleasure or excitement and intense feelings of well-being and happiness.
Perfect. ♥️
16 | look on the bright side
Day 16 of is complete and I decided to have some fun and just paint! I love all things citrus! 🍊 🍋 Bright and happy!
I’ve got to stop taking pictures so late in the evening. The lighting is horrible. 🙃 I’m too impatient to wait for morning and I’d be in a rush to get out the door anyway.
Hope you all have a great week! With all that’s wrong in the world, we really need to practice looking on the bright side of things when possible. ♥️
12 | start doing things you love
Day 12 of and I am on track!
This piece follows yesterday’s piece about being brave and just taking flight! Now - start doing what you love!!
Some things I love to do:
- laugh hard and loud
- sing in the car with my kiddos and Marco
- creating anything fun and colorful
- spending time with my girl gang 😃
- eating Greek yogurt and berries
- watching my kids play sports
What do you love to do? Tell me! 👇🏼
11 | with brave wings she flies
Number 11 out of 100 completed for
I am having such a great time just playing and getting messy! I know I keep saying that - but it’s true. I have been battling that feeling of imposter syndrome/not being good enough/comparison etc!
I know how creating makes me feel. I know that when I initially look at my work or what I’ve created, I am happy and pleased with what I’ve done.
It’s only after I start to overthink, or I compare it to someone else’s work or get a comment that makes me feel “off” or no comments or interaction at all, that I start to doubt and forget my previous feelings of happiness and freedom.
I know, of course, that those are lies I’ve created in my head and am working on trusting myself and how my art makes me feel. ♥️
Do you ever feel this way about anything? Tell me about it. I’d love to know I’m not alone!
♥️
10 | JOMO
Day 10 completed
No prompts pulled for this one. Just wrapping up the day with a quick one. ☺️
It may be my age, but I’m finding that I am experiencing more JOMO (joy of missing out) than FOMO (fear of missing out) these days.
Now don’t get me wrong. I still don’t want to miss out when it comes to certain people - I cherish those moments - but overall, I’d rather be at home. Relaxing. Puttering. Whatever. Time is precious in this go-go-go day and age.
Can you relate? 😃
9 | thrive
Prompts: drip, geometric, and botanical
Word: thrive
I’m on day 9 of the challenge and I’m loving it! It’s never too late to start! Join us!
Just over here literally thriving! I mean, it’s going to be a tough week at work - but I am all good.
We’ve got corporate coming down and an open house type of presentation going on and lots of people to wow and impress…
but I will still keep to my workouts. I will still get in my quiet time and my art.
Nothing can stop me but myself - so let’s do this! Do you want to just be living or do you also want to be THRIVING? I want to be thriving! ♥️
8 | relax
Prompts: no prompts pulled - just decided to doodle.
I felt like playing with the watercolors today, but was super tired. I had such a busy weekend and I’ve got a very busy work week up ahead. So I decided to keep it simple. Of course my Rolodex card isn’t meant for watercolors, but it was fine.
Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead - we actually have 29 days this in February this year. 😃 We are almost there!
Take care and make time to relax! ♥️
7 | joyful
Prompts: ephemera, collage, and number.
Word: joyful
I was excited when I pulled these prompts - however, I was a bit dismayed when I realized I had such a small space to create my collage on. Don’t worry! I’ve already got some ideas of pulling out more ephemera and fun little treasures to do a larger collage soon.
I love the color combo I chose and the perfect little pieces I found in my stash. I was thinking about the word joyful - full of joy. I feel like a person has to decide to be joyful. Like wonder, joy is something we can lose sight of. We can let the overwhelming says and fast pace of our lives to bring us down and steal our joy. It’s not easy trying to stay positive and protecting our peace - but it is possible. I say start with the little joys - the simple joys in your life.
Let’s name three. I’ll go first:
1. Cutting open a perfectly ripe avocado.
2. Getting happy mail.
3. A really good belly laugh!
Now you go! 3 simple joys for you:
#
6 | Wonder
Prompts: asemic (which I had to look up the meaning 🤓), stamps, vintage Word: wonder
I think a lot of us are too serious these days. We’ve lost our sense of wonder, our curiosity, - our sense of adventure and fun!
This project has already helped me get myself back to having fun and enjoying my scribbles and colorful messes. It’s helped me find and “meet” other artists whose works I appreciate and admire! I’m excited for this renewed wonder! What about you?
I fell behind in posting but I’m still on track!
to perfection
5 | Marvelous
Day 5 of
Prompts: copper, indigo, stencil
Word: marvelous
Well I took today’s prompts quite literal, didn’t I? 😄 I’d had a long day at work along with some follow up at the doctor’s office.
By the time I got home, cooked dinner, did my workout, and ate - my brain was fried! But - I had been looking forward to getting messy in the studio all day so I needed to just start!
When I pulled the prompts, I laughed and said to myself, “Well isn’t this marvelous?” And gave myself a good laugh. I got straight to it. Didn’t want to dig out my stencils since a lot of my stuff is still packed away, so I just grabbed a paper heart doily I had left over from Valentine’s Day. I did a reverse stencil by cutting out a silhouette of a person jumping for joy because maybe they got some marvelous news. 😃
Then I went back and forth with myself trying to decide if indigo is closer to royal blue or kind of purple. For the copper I used some perfect pearls powder from Ranger that I had forgotten about.
When I was done I was satisfied with my work. Not my best, not my favorite, but still satisfied. I E MADE IT 5 days straight - and THAT’S marvelous! ♥️
So you ever have days like that? What helps you to push through and make it a marvelous day after all?
Day 4 | Jubilantly
Day 4 of is done. Today’s prompts were: splatters, turquoise, and watercolors.
The word I pulled was: jubilantly (feeling or expressing great happiness and triumph.)
“Sometimes I need only to stand wherever I am to be blessed.” - Mary Oliver
I can jubilantly say that I have been able to keep up with all of my challenges I’ve set for myself this year in several areas of my life! I know - it’s only February 😅 but I am feeling encouraged by it.
How about you? Have you felt jubilant or blessed recently? I’d love to hear about it!
3 | Tenacious
Day 3 of is complete.
Today, I used some inspo from Emanuela at . She draws from a wonderful list of prompts she compiled, along with a list of words to help get you started. Thank you for sharing that Emanuela!
This was so helpful today and was exactly the thing I was looking for to help get me going. ☺️
Today’s words were:
- tattered
- feather
- white
Word - tenacious
♥️ Such a strong word. It basically means stubborn, but in a positive way. No quitting. Hanging on. Never giving up. I thought it was quite fitting for today and the mood I’m in.
🪶 Oh, and I was going to sketch a lovely feather when I remembered I had this tiny feather that I found outside one day and have been carrying around in my phone case. Now it can be a great reminder to always stay tenacious!
2 | Illuminate
Wrapping up Day 2 of .
To be perfectly honest, I’m not crazy about my little piece of art today - but I had to tell myself it was fine and to move along. 😅 I’ve gone through a pretty dry spell of creating just for fun, so I think I need to warm up and get back in the groove of things! .
Anyway - the point is to not get hung up on it and to just have fun and get messy. I was able to do both once I relaxed a bit. ☺️
Day 1 | Transform
Day 1 of the 100 Day Project. I chose to create a small piece of art each day in this rolodex that I’ve had for a while. ♥️
My why for joining this challenge is that it might help me get back into a routine of creating just for the fun of it. Just for the joy it brings me.
There are no rules. Just have fun. 🤩
I decided that this year I would get back to creating for fun, for enjoyment, for release, and for myself. ♥️
One of my favorite ways to be creative is to make small pieces of art. Nothing elaborate, nothing too serious. Just putting a little bit of my heart onto paper, or canvas, or whatever.♥️
So I am taking part in an ATC (artist trading card) Swap. You make a certain amount of cards and send them to the host and you get back that many cards from other artists all over the world. I can’t wait to receive my new treasures!
One Little Word. A guiding word for the year. Maybe in place of New Year’s resolutions. ✨
Did you choose one this year? Care to share what it is?
I’ve done all kinds of signs and creative reminders throughout the years. Each one unique! I have time to do a few more this month if you want to order something.

My word this year is RELEASE.
I have been working with intention to doing just that. It will be a constant work in progress.
Some areas I am currently working on:
Releasing the fear or idea that I am a disappointment.
Releasing the idea that I must be a certain way to be fully accepted.
Releasing the chokehold of people pleasing and fear of judgement.
Releasing the shame from past wrongs that were either brought on by myself or put on myself against my will.
I am working on releasing these things by doing many things and incorporating different ways of mindfulness toward RELEASE.
One way is something I learned from Tara Bach’s Mindfulness and Self Compassion exercise.
Think RAIN.
Recognize - what is happening or has happened.
Allow - Allow the memory and what’s happening now.
Investigate and deepen contact with my feelings and trauma.
Nurture and make space for new, good things.
I have been painting and drawing as I listen and think on these things.
How do you deal with things you want to release in your life?
Don’t make yourself small. ♥️ Your feelings deserve to take up space. ♥️ Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re too much. ♥️ You are loved and you are enough. ♥️

Just the quickest little doodle. 🎃 It’s October folks! Literally just a couple months left of 2021. I love fall time. 🍁🍂 I love knowing that the days and nights are going to grow cooler - even here in Southern California. I love knowing that cozy evenings with family and friends shared around a fire or over a comforting meal is just around the corner. 🍲 Fall reminds me that it is necessary to lay old things down, to shed old ways and habits in order to grow and experience new things. The new year promises hope of a new beginning for most people, but I say that it’s autumn that should inspire that energy 🧡 Happy fall and hello October! Autumn 🍂 #alteredtoperfection

Happy Friday everybody!! I know you usually see me posting my signs, but anybody obsessed with planners like I am?? I've been keeping a calendar or day planner since I was in college. I've used all kinds from simple #suzyszoo pocket calendars to fancy #franklinplanners My current planner of choice is the MAMBI Happy Planner. It's fun and easy to organize. I'd be lost without it! I refuse to switch to icalendar or google. That's boring. Lol One of my first etsy items to "hit it big" were these jumbo paperclip bookmarks I made. Somebody pinned my post to Pinterest and my sales went nuts. I took a break from selling them for a while, but I think I'll be adding them to the shop again! I make all kinds of variations of this clip and the color combo possibilities are endless! I'd you're a planner junkie like me - be sure to check back!! I've been working on some fun kits!! . . . . #alteredtoperfection #mambihappyplanner #plannerjunkie #jumbopaperclipbookmark #wash*tape #etsy #etsyseller #plannerlover
Want your business to be the top-listed Event Planning Service?
I like the idea of giving something new life or creating something that is memorable or will bring joy to the recipient. I mean, isn’t that how it is with Christ? He creates in us a new heart. He makes all things new. He can take something broken and make it beautiful and give it purpose. Altered to Perfection!
I started out making banners, journals, teacher gifts, greeting cards and more. I made them for myself or as gifts, but then started getting requests from others and the word got out that I “make stuff”. :)
I currently still work a job outside the home full-time and then work at Altered to Perfection on the evenings and weekends as much as my schedule will allow. Maybe one day it will be my day job too!
I’ve been making wood signs mostly, along with my husband Marco - he’s the carpenter in this operation. :) But I will still make banners and other items at request. How about something personalized or custom made for yourself or that special someone on your gift list? If you don't see what you're looking for - let me know! I will be happy to work with you to come up with something special!
Thank you for stopping by! Leave a comment and let me know you were here. Mostly, thank you for trusting us with your special requests!
