Our ages 9 - 12 summer arts and crafts camp is right around the corner. This year in addition to our crafts, we will be adding a more mature approach of art into the camp. Each day we will dive into different art techniques. This year we are focusing on drawing animals, perspective drawing, pop culture using pencil and paint, and ancient Egyptian art by using charcoal, paint, and ink.

We were super fortunate on Monday night to use the hall space for last minute rehearsal! Here is our junior group practicing for the Parkhill fair. We will be dancing on August 9th at 7:00pm we hope to see you there !

We had so much fun with our ages 4 - 8 arts and crafts camp. We started the first day by getting to know each other through art. Each child started with their own painting and then every five minutes we would pass our paintings to the next person, until it got back to the original owner of the canvas. At first, the kids struggled to share their painting with others but by the end they couldn’t wait to get their painting back to see the finished product. They all ended up with a really cool piece of art that had something from everyone and each child was super impressed with how their painting turned out. Throughout the week we created many different types of paintings, created clay frogs, made little lights, made chalk, pillows, play dough, rice bottles, picture frames, birdhouses and more. We also embraced our scientific side and explored the chemical mixture of baking soda and vinegar, created crystals out of borax and pipe cleaners, and made some fun slime. When we weren’t creating with our hands we were playing hide and go seek, octopus, what time is it Mr. Wolf, red light green light and other games. We also enjoyed various adventures at the park and running through the splash pad. We also took a visit to the Ailsa Craig Museum where the children got to learn a little history about this wonderful town. The kiddos said their favorite part was the train set up! Throughout the week the kids got lots of different treats like ice cream, popsicles and doughnuts. It was a fantastic week and we loved seeing the big smiles on the kids' faces, memories were made, laughter was shared, and art was experienced!

We also have our ages 9 - 12 arts and crafts camp we are preparing for. We have some exciting plans like tie dye, building birdhouses, learning how to draw realistic images, painting techniques, and more. We will also be exploring science by making homemade magnets, slime, turning an egg into rubber, and more. Much like our other camps we will also be taking daily trips to the parks and museum. It is coming up fast but there is still time to sign up!

We had so much fun last week! We created a lot of cool arts and crafts, played outside, and our favourite game was hide and seek.

Don't forget to stop by the Towne hall tomorrow for some fun crafts from 11:00 - 2:00 held upstairs!

A very fitting tribute. Marie McLennan brought Scottish Country dancing to Ye Olde Towne Hall every week for almost 20 years. The unofficial place where novice and experienced dancers were taught the steps and stories of Scottish Country dancing. Sadly Marie passed away earlier this year. Ye Olde Towne Hall host a dance and luncheon as a tribute to her on Saturday.

Ye olde Towne hall is having a drop in day on July 24th from 11:00am - 2:00pm. We are hosting some crafts in celebration of 150 years of Ailsa Craig and Gala Days 50th. All ages up to 14 are welcome. There is no fee just drop by and come have fun!

Ye Olde Towne Hall is the perfect hall rental setting for any occasion – this century old building has a certain warmth that the bleak aesthetics of newer buildings do not.

Here at the Towne Hall we are thinking about the importance of wellness in one's daily life. During our summer camps we make sure to provide the best care and support while creating awesome memories. We are always engaging in fun activities indoors and outdoors.

We have three awesome camps coming up soon. Our ages 4-8 Arts and Crafts is just around the corner starting July 15th - 19th, followed by ages 9-12 Arts and Crafts starting August 12th - 16th and theatre camp known as Summer Glee starting on August 19th - 23rd.

Hello friends of Ailsa Craig my name is Hannah Blaauboer. I am so excited to be back for a third year at the Towne Hall. I will be the camp coordinator and with that I will also be updating you guys with all of our fun events that take place. This year we will be implementing our ages 4-8 and 9-12 Arts and Crafts Camp and Lesley is back running the Summer Glee program.

Here is a little bit about me. I am from outside of Ailsa Craig and I started at the Towne Hall a few years ago volunteering at the summer camps. Volunteering was always a highlight of my summers. I have a passion for dance and I have danced for most of my life. I have taught dance at numerous places however, I chose to slow down teaching when I went back to school. I passed my first year at Fanshawe for the developmental support worker course and I am enrolled for year two coming this september. Teaching and helping others has always been a part of me and I can’t wait for our 2024 summer camps to start!

SUMMER GLEE!
Get ready for an extraordinary summer experience that goes beyond your typical kids' camp! The Summer Glee program is the chance for youth aged seven through seventeen to learn and embrace studies in theatre and music!

The program is instructed by Lesley Andrew, an inspiring woman who has made soloist appearances with many of Canada’s finest orchestras and choirs, including, Guelph symphony orchestras, Weston Silver Band, and many others. Ms. Andrew’s professional activities have included teaching and stage directing appointments at Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as the Universities of Windsor and Western Ontario. AGES 9-12 ARTS AND CRAFTS
Come Join us for a week of creative excitement at the Ye olde towne hall. We will be engaging in lots of cool arts and crafts using unique materials of all kinds. The children also get a chance each day to explore their science side and learn a new science experiment. We will also be exploring the outdoors by going to the lions park, the Ailsa Craig Splash Pad, engaging in team games, playing outdoor water games, and more. This is a great experience for kids to make new friends, challenge their creativity, and have the best week of their life!

Camp will run on August 12th - August 16th from 8:00am - 4:00pm

AGES 4-8 ARTS AND CRAFTS
This summer camp engages children to explore the world of arts and crafts. We learn new skills including how to paint in creative ways and build unique crafts with one's hands. We will also be exploring the outdoors by enjoying the Lions Park and the Ailsa Craig Splash Pad. This camp also allows for children to engage in some interactive games including team races, hide and seek, musical chairs and more. This is a great experience for kids to make new friends, challenge their creativity, and have the best week of their lives!

Camp will run on July 15th - July 19th from 8:00am - 4:00pm
