Meet your DJ: I’ve been asked to tell couples about myself, so I made a post a couple years ago, but wanted to update it. This post has some pictures of events we’ve DJ’d, but also pictures showing who I am.
• Personally, I consider myself the life of the party and a social butterfly, with a splash of wild child! I love life and push its limits sometimes. We built our business with the intention to give back to our community. So far this has become a reality, and we strive to continue that tradition!
• What type of DJ am I and how much experience do I have? Well, I have been DJing for over 10 yrs now, and I can comfortably say I have DJ’d several hundreds of weddings. I am a true professional and I treat every wedding with the care and attention to detail it needs. I also make sure the couples and I are on the same page. I bring out my business partner as my assistant to help with details throughout the event. We will always go out of our way to make sure the couple have no stress on their day!
I have listed a few more things below that separate me from the rest:
- I am a DJ that will not interrupt your day with cheesy jokes and make the wedding about myself.
- I MC all of my events. I’m not shy on the mic and make sure guests know what’s going in thru the night.
- Many “DJs” will hide behind the booth, that’s not my case. As much as my work station is behind the booth, my assistant and I interact with guests, make sure things are prepared and vendors are ready to go thru the night, while making sure we stay on top of your timeline.
- I communicate with vendors, whether it’s making sure dinner is ready or needs to be pushed up, or finding the photographer to make sure they know we are moving forward. I make sure we are all on the same page. It’s important since as a DJ I am the host and in charge of making the night flow.
-I listen to all music and am not stuck on one in particular. I literally listen to everything from Country, hip hop, Top 40’s, every decade, reaggeton, Banda, Cumbias, Norteñas….
-I do not drink while DJing, nobody wants a drunk DJ playing his favorite songs. My job it to entertain you and your guests.
-I will say, my style is a bit different. I don’t show up looking like a penguin. I’m not the cheesy DJ that shows up looking like I’m there to orchestrate a symphony and crack jokes non-stop. Although I am witty and enjoy social interactions, this is your wedding, not a stand up show. Also, this is Arizona, and while many have very formal weddings, I may not be for them. I want to be comfortable since I’m up and moving for 8+ hrs. Nice Stetson jeans, button up, and boots for me! (I have been known to dress up upon request)
-I would also like to address a question that I still get asked a lot: Do I DJ same s*x weddings? Of course I do! Love is love and I am personally sorry anyone would deny you service or that you even have to ask! Same s*x weddings are actually some of my favorites because you almost always just feel a abundance of love from all the guests!
