The events for the week ended with a bang at the SHaD Awards Luncheon!

Tracy Prigmore, founder of , and five of the top CEO’s from Hyatt, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham and Choice hotels, discussed the importance of having more women-owned hotels and properties as well as ways to support this mission moving forward.

The excitement continued as the winners from the Today’s Woman and Early Careerist tracks were announced - congrats to ASM Consolidated and GLoW Investing!

Last Friday, DBD also had the honor of producing the Pitch Competition for the “Early Careerist” track as well! Another exciting day listening to a dynamic group of women share their plans for future ownership and investment opportunities! This time last week, DBD was prepping for multiple productions with She Has a Deal (SHaD), a program that creates pathways to hotel ownership for women through education, networking and mentorship.

Last Thursday, the first group of teams in the “Today’s Woman” track pitched their hearts out to potential investors, judges and a room full of excited guests! These talented women definitely made their mark, sharing their plans for new properties, resorts and boutique hotels.

DBD stepped into a new role as Stage Manager and also wrote the production timelines for both Pitch Competitions, which was a rewarding experience!

This past weekend, Defined by Design Events had the honor of planning and partnering with on the launch of her powerful documentary - When They Speak: Stories of Black Men in America. Not only was I moved by the vulnerability shared in each man’s story, but I was also moved by the outpouring of love and support. I can’t wait to see this project take off! Congratulations!

I love the way shot the wedding details for this beautiful summer wedding. I remember the time, thoughtfulness and creativity she put into staging the couple's personal items and making sure the vibrant yellow in their color scheme was carried throughout the photographs.
