new website launch
after months of taking pause, of reassessing the why behind the what, and the energetics behind the art, Homegrown slowly began to solidify its brand - and with it, a new website to showcase the curation of content taken throughout the last four years. photography became an early love of mine as i saw the importance of old photographs my grandmother would both take and carefully use to curate her photo albums. memories that when long gone, stood the test of time in albums that could be pulled out, poured over, and shared. Homegrown was built around the love of the still image, of how images can both pause time and become timeless. for me, it’s never about composing the “perfect” image, of following the trends, or of molding each individual session into one cookie cutter gallery. it’s about learning each story, whether individual or shared, and allowing the emotion and unique personality of our subjects to shine through. in a world that is saturated with imagery, we work to capture the human essence, to transcend what is right or wrong, popular or unpopular, and appeal to the shared human experience through a variety of lenses. please view and enjoy the newest evolution of Homegrown as it has molded throughout the last couple of years. if you are reading this, thank you for following along. and a very special thank you to my husband @wcphelan for being my biggest support and fellow photographer🤍
We are always in transition. stretching, reaching, growing at our edges. one day we will wake up and reveal the truth. that none of this is permanent. all is temporary. and the time for forgiveness has always been now.
so move through your blocking, release what keeps you tethered to the ground. step out of comparison and open your palms to your own unique, brilliant experience. the one that is unfolding just before you-because it is. it’s in the unknown we find a deeper understanding. we come alive in the mystery of it all.
