I guess my love for flowers started at a very young age, something I seemed to have inherited from my Gran. I remember spending time in her massive rose garden, admiring al the shapes, colours and beauty they had to offer. At one point, when I was maybe 6 or 7, I told everything that asked me that one day, I wanted to be a florist (at that point I wanted to be the one who merely hands the flowers
to the florist and not do the arranging myself; which has become a family joke). After school I spend years pursuing other options, studying, traveling, working abroad and finally settling down with a boring 9 to 5 job to just pay the bills. To keep my creative brain alive, I taught myself various Graphic Design programs, and did various stationery projects like Wedding Stationery, Invites, Company Logo’s, Adverts, etc. At the beginning of last year my friends’ dad had his 2nd wedding, and they were looking for someone capable and at easy with flowers to do their table arrangements, boutonnieres and bouquets. As being a creative person, with a love for flowers, my friend suggested me. Needless to say; and not to sound too cliché; after that, I was completely hooked. The bug had bitten me, and I knew without a doubt, that this was my passion, and that no matter what, I would turn this passion into a career. Since then I have been immensely blessed with opportunities and support from friends, family and clients, willing to take a chance and believe in me. I am attending the Wally Klett Florist Workshop at Bona Dea Private Estate in Hermanus at the end of July. She is the international Queen of wedding floristry, and after that, I will have the skills and confidence to set my goals even higher. I have also branched out into event planning and styling, combining the beauty of flowers with the perfect matching table and venue décor. My first project will be in November, styling the wedding décor and flowers for an elegant formal wedding for two of my close friends and very special people. My goal is to connect with each client, each project uniquely and transform their dreams and vision into reality. I strive to be compatible and flexible with my prices, time and needs of each individual client.
