For those who still believe that DJing is a new thing keep in mind that the first DJ was Ray Newby who rocked the air waves in 1909. In 1935, the term Disc Jockey was created by Walter Winchell! In 1947 English DJ, Sir Jimmy Savile was the first DJ to use two turntables to rock the air waves!!! 1973, DJ Kool Herc created Hip-Hop!! Djing has been a profession for about 116 years since its inception. I am very proud to be a part of DJing since 1988!!!!!

What is up mi gente!!! So reaching out to venues booking DJs or who can I reach out to in the Reno and Tahoe areas! Unfortunately still trying to recover from my Facebook getting hack earlier this year and losing majority of bookings for 2025. Luckily I have my pre booked events till spring!

So I came up with my first topic for my blog. I am coming close to 4 decades of DJing, and I've never been stiffed by a venue before, so I'm not sure how to handle this. I'm usually pretty patient when it come to getting paid, it's not like I'm hurting for events, but I think it's more principle and respect than anything. It's been about 4 months since I DJ'd for this venue, I've reached out to the booking manager and to one of the owners. I even went down there and hung out for almost 2 hrs. I understand that I am not a top headlining DJ in No. NV, but does that put me beneath other DJs when it come to being paid? What are your thoughts?

I know some have been asking, about what happened to my website. My website was recently taken down due to some not so nice people. I was able to fixed it and decided to take this time to revamp the site. Since this is going to be a living rebuild, feel free to check out the progress at djeydol.com. I'll be adding some new pages that i didn't have before, like a media gallery, blogs, and an updated music page. I appreciate everyone's patience during the rebuild as I have a few placeholders and some links that have not been completely built. Also, let me know if there are any blog topics you'd like me to consider. ✌️
