Hi again. Last sing out of the year! What a lovely group of Carers at Summerset Down the Lane. They made our Stage a beautiful feature with the blue theme which carried throughout the Venue! We also sang at Rosendale and Hospital Volunteers day which I didn’t mention last post.

Hi. Fusion have been singing up a storm in December. Fun night with our St. Andrews Bupa Residents at their happy hour. We are now a regular fixture singing there a few times a year! Summerset Rototuna Dementia wing, Awatere and Summerset Down the Lane (this coming Wednesday) once again had us sing at their Xmas Party. We sang for the second time for the Tuahini Women’s group at St. Andrew’s Golf Club. What a lovely bunch of women. Very special today, singing at the Children’s Hospital. Some joined us ringing the bells. You may have seen us traveling around Hamilton with the Vintage Cars visiting many Rest Homes ending up at Te Kowhai Friday Evening. Photos will be posted in the next few days.

Come and enjoy a festive evening with Fusion. A Raglan Roast coffee cart will also be there along side the sausage sizzle. Also the local volunteer fire brigade will be there to entertain the children. Fusion will sing Christmas songs outside the Grotto when we arrive between 8pm and 8.30pm. TK Hall restrooms will be open. Bring cash for sausage sizzle and coffee cart and further donations to be shared between Creative Memories and the Grotto to help keep these voluntary groups going. Fusion had a fabulous day on Saturday at the Mid Winter Dance in the Te Kowhai Hall. It was a Creative Memories event with all proceeds going to the support of people with Dementia and their families. Reminisce are such lovely friends and a joy to sing with. This year we were joined by the Drifters Rock n' Roll dancers...a blur of colour as they twisted and turned around the dance floor. So much laughter ,love and dance in the room with amazing support from so many. Fantastic volunteers.

Prior to Fusion we sang as a quartet called Smooth Talk for about 8 years. Last weekend we had a Reunion but unfortunately Debbie couldn’t join us due to sickness but she was very clever and added herself into the photo. Such an everlasting friendship. Many of the older members of the Waikato Rivertones will remember us!

Bill volunteers every week with Suzy and Sue Middleton's classes held at the Dementia Waikato Foundation Trust's building in Frankton.
Always a lot of fun laughter, singing and dancing in these sessions. So lovely to be part of.

Today we sang to a lovely lady who has turned 102years. Her 2 daughters hired us as a suprise to sing for an hour. Staff, friends and family danced. We shared cake and much love with many Residents, family and friends at Bob Owen’s Retirement Villiage. Happy birthday Ruth!

Fusion entertained at the annual Creative Memories Summer Fundraising Concert at The Glades. Joining with the wonderful band, Reminisce and many other great singers and musicians to raise funds for Creative Memories clients. It was such a lovely day and we raised approx $4000. Great sponsorship and support from so many companies makes it possible. The invaluable kindness of so many volunteers keep the day running smoothly."Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much".This is an annual event. Next year it will be on March 1st. Put it in your diary now! Thank you to all involved.

The annual Fusion and Friends Santa Parades , part of Creative Memories programme,went off perfectly. Over 2 nights going through 10 lifestyle and retirement villages. An amazing array of vintage and classic cars, a happy Snowman, fantastic Rock and Roll Dancers,little dogs, children handing out chocolates, a very naughty Grinch , Fusion singing fun Christmas songs and of course Santa! So much to enjoy..so many smiling faces, singing and dancing sharing the spirit of Christmas!
How grateful I am to have so many wonderful people who donate their time so generously and bring their beautifully decorated cars and motorbikes for all to enjoy.

Another day of singing Christmas songs! To see the residents of the Summerset Memory Care Unit, laughing, dancing and singing with such joy was special. Then it was off to an Awatere Christmas luncheon to meet Santa then sing favourite Christmas melodies to this lovely group. The staff if all of these places are so caring giving and kind to the residents. Beautiful to see.

Fusion spent this morning singing in the Children's wards in Waikato Hospital.It is always so moving to see children in hospital at Christmas time particularly.
Their smiles and dancing made it all worthwhile.
