2023 was a mixed year for me. I won’t showcase the many highlights because the lows are just as important to me.

Leaving Bonaire island, which had been my home for 10 years, wasn’t easy. The process of remigrating, in general, still isn’t easy. I had big plans that I wanted to execute right away upon arriving in my homeland, but life had other plans for me.

However, the beauty of processes like these is that they bring the most valuable lessons. ‘A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a person perfected without trials.’ So, the only thing I can do is accept it, lean into it, be patient, and trust the process.

I’m still struggling to adjust to my new European life as a former Caribbean girl, but going back was the best thing I could do. It’s not easy, but I’m getting there. And I’m blessed with many beautiful souls around me who support and believe in me. For that, I’m most grateful.

I’m really looking forward to what 2024 has in store. Here’s to a creative year filled with joy, fun, good health, and lots of music and dancing! Wishing you all happiness and love! 💛🍾🥂✨
