Project Room
Project Room was born out of passion for electronic music, the forward thinking culture around it and the will to bring Breda’s (inter)national students together through shared interest towards aforementioned subjects. In musical terms, we noticed how homogeneous student parties in Breda were, with nothing really matching our taste, so we took the initiative and talked to the flyest club in town: Club Spock.
But we wanted to do a little more than just a free party on a Thursday. Since our target group are students and internationals enjoying house and techno, and our name ‘Project Room’ is a direct reference to class rooms, we thought that this would also be a great opportunity to educate our visitors, for example, with a quiz at the entrance related to electronic music. After all, the absence of such parties signaled low awareness of the genre and its culture, so we felt obliged to contribute to this part of Breda’s nightlife.
With both of us being expats (FIN/RUS & GER/FRA), we know how hard it is to get integrated in the local circles. We also didn’t have any circles of our own here in Breda, so with organizing Project Room we hoped to create one ourselves. In other words: we love bringing people together through music, and have been successfully doing so since April 2019. We have made many great friends thanks to our events, and we are constantly on the lookout for promising local up and coming DJs whom we want to give the chance to showcase their musical identity at our events.
