Petals upon petals of ruffled lisianthus and dahlias are stealing the show the weekend. This is my favorite time…when patience in the garden is rewarded and the blooms really show off. These blooms are labor intensive and require a steady amount of attention and care to grow. When I started doing weddings and event design over 10 years ago, I was in awe of every bloom and now, nothing has changed and I still am. So much in awe that I wanted to actually be the hands that grew AND designed the flowers when I could within the capabilities of my growing zone. And of course, I chose dahlias to focus on because of their awe factor. Yes, I do love a challenge. It’s taken me so much time, trial, retrial and even complete rehaul with mistakes, failures, losses that have taught me something. I have a deep appreciation for the hands that do this work everyday because the work is never stagnant or done. In a world of immediacy and quick fixes, the garden reminds us that nature takes it time and will always seek a way to begin again 🌸❤️☀️ Enjoy the flowers as they are a labor of love!
