I love to post my logo on my grid to create a visual break and, in a way, a breathing space in my feed. Every time I share it, I’m reminded of the lovely morning I spent sketching little drawings of vases, which ultimately led to this design. When it came back from the graphic designer, I was so excited; to me, even a simple drawing of flowers in a vase can bring a smile to your face. So, every time you see it, I hope you think of me smiling at you and feel a little happiness in your day!

✨ Behind the scenes update! ✨🌸
As an independent wedding florist here in beautiful Belgium, I’m embracing the quieter months of January and February. While I don’t have any weddings going on, I’m keeping busy with all the important behind-the-scenes work: planning, preparing bridal quotations, consultations, and finally tackling those tasks that have been on my to-do list for too long!
With not much in the way of fresh flowers to share at the moment, I’ll be filling up my grid with gorgeous images from last season’s weddings (some of these stunning photos have only just arrived!) as well as a few snapshots from the mad, fun & crazy workshops that kept me & it appears lots of you smiling & laughing 💐🎉

How to keep your flowers looking their best in the extreme heat !
As the temperatures soar, it’s more important than ever to take extra care of your flowers. I always deliver my bridal bouquets in water, with a little cloth to wipe down the stems. But here are some essential tips to keep your flowers at home to stay fresh for as long as possible.

💦 **Hydration is Key:**
- **Water Regularly:** Make sure to check the water levels in your vases daily and change the water every couple of days. Add flower food if you have it; it helps nourish your blooms.

- **Cut Stems:** Trim the stems at an angle before placing them in water. This allows for better water absorption and keeps them hydrated longer.
**Keep It Cool:**
- **Shady Spots:** If your flowers are outdoors, try to keep them in shaded areas during the hottest parts of the day. Direct sunlight can wilt them quickly.

- **Airflow:** Ensure good airflow around your flowers, especially if they are in arrangements. Crowding can lead to overheating.

**Remove Wilting Leaves:**
- Keep an eye out for any wilting or discolored leaves and remove them promptly. This helps prevent bacterial growth in the water and keeps your flowers looking fresh.

**Mist for Moisture:**
- Give your flowers a gentle mist with water to help keep them cool and hydrated. This works wonders for delicate petals.

- Lastly, remember to enjoy your flowers!

On civil ceremony day, when the bride and groom come to my house to collect their flowers, it’s such a lovely moment. Everything feels more relaxed, the stresses are different from “the big day” It’s always a privilege to spend these intimate moments with them, have a chat, and just try & keep those wedding day nerves at bay..

It’s been a crazy busy couple of months with lots of weddings & events with more still to come. At times I feel pretty exhausted with such early mornings & late nights but when I see the results & receive such lovely feedback, it’s so worth it. Anyhow that’s it, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who’s supporting me during this busy time, I couldn’t do it without you. 😊🌸

Throwback to a moment of floral magic!
This photo takes me back to a transformative course in sustainable floristry with the brilliant Darrell, where florists from across the globe came together as a creative force.
For many solo florists, like myself, these moments of connection are priceless. Sharing tales, experiences, and inspiration with fellow florists is a treasure trove of growth. Reminiscing about these shared experience fuels my creativity during the quieter times & fills me with inspiration & gratitude.

Spring is tiptoeing in, bringing a subtle shift in the air. Can you sense it too? This morning I put together this “living wreath” featuring Muscari, Hyacinths, and mini daffodils - They are yet to bloom so you have to look closely but I can’t wait to see them grow.

Stepping back briefly to focus on some behind-the -scenes work & to re-charge. Unlike most, I’m always happy when January comes around, yes the skies are grey & this week the rain has been relentless but it’s a quiet month work wise which allows time for me to be creative & plan ahead. It also happens to be my birthday month “Happy birthday to me 🥳” and I’ll be celebrating big time.. can’t wait to share the photos but for now it’s hush hush..
