✨Baby Shower ✨
I celebrated my baby shower over the weekend and thought I would share my incredibly simple and effective setup with you all.

There were two main areas:
1. The main setup, perfect for photo opportunities with guests and cake cutting
2. Mum-Osa Bar / Favors. A place for guests to pour themselves a drink and a place for favours to be on display.

Things to factor into your event when planning:
My mum and sister planned my event, but of course the props were in my hands!

1. Your venue location - mine was held at my parents home in the backyard.

2. Know your space & guest numbers - being the backyard I knew the areas and room I had to work with and was able to figure what props would be able to best fit the area and the areas guests would be roaming / mingling / sitting down.

3. Factor in the weather: living in Melbourne, you always need to have two plans in place, especially if you're planning for it to be mostly outdoors. What's your weather contingency plan for wind or rain? OR even extreme heat!

4. On the topic of weather consider the following - If you're wanting shiny look balloons, be prepared for oxidation from the sun creating a matte look. There's not much that balloon stylists can do about this. This was my reasoning for not opting for balloons in my setup, even though there was absolutely enough room for them.

Consider the wind, and definitely factor in extra weight to hold props. This is why we ask clients about location/venue and where props will be placed so we can research and plan ahead for additional weights etc.

Food and drinks - ensure food is out of the sun (think grazing tables and cake!) and that drinks remain chilled.

5. Have a Budget & Vision!
There's always pressure when you're in the industry to put on something extravagant, but personally knowing the hard work that goes into planning (especially with a limited time frame), and the stage of my pregnancy, I knew I just wanted something incredibly low-key. Perfect for the backyard and perfect to accommodate the February weather!

6.Favours for guests: I opted for mini popcorn packets with personalized stickers. Fantastic option for those on a budget. Find the plastic packet size of choice from your local $2 / party store. Etsy for custom stickers and Officeworks for sticker printing. Fill with your fave popcorn or pop your own kernels.
I decal'd my 3 tier plinth with the saying "Ready to Pop". Play on words about giving birth and the popcorn as favours.

Main setup: Peacock Chair, with pink cushion. 1.8m pink arch, 1.9m hollow arch, ripple plinth, floral arrangement and decals.

Mum-Osa Bar: The OG Candy Cart, all accessories available as well. Giant teddy was transformed into a girl. Three tier plinth to accommodate favours with decal.
Favours were popcorn with custom made stickers all done DIY.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME & PGTP 🥳

With many new followers, I thought why not tell you a little about myself and the biz 🙌

1. My name is Stephanie, most people call me Steph 👋

2. I'll be entering my dirty thirties in May! Woo! Where are my 1993 babies at?

3. I am of Italian/Lebanese decent, that means I absolutely love food and talking with my hands 🤣

4. I'm married, a mama of two boys and currently pregnant with a baby girl, due in April 2023💗 incase you may be wondering "Why all the Mat Leave posts girl!?" Hehe!!

5. I had the idea for this business in 2018 - and gosh doesn't that feel like a lifetime ago? Although, I officially launched in 2019. I wanted to do something for myself as a stay at home mum and always loved putting events together. I started off with 2 props, a polaroid style frame that said Oh Baby and a pallet Donut Wall. I only offered pickup in the beginning, before I got comfortable to deliver and then it kinda exploded after that and I was able to expand into a nice little range of more props. I have built this business mainly through social media! We've literally JUST added in a website last week! 😱

6. I'm a Thyroid Cancer Survivor 🦋 I was diagnosed in 2020 (at 27 years old) after many years of feeling like something wasn't right in my body. I had a total thyroidectomy and a removal of 20 lymph nodes. I'm currently cancer free. So I truly believe everyday is a gift and life should be celebrated! No matter what occasion, no matter how old you are!
This absolutely translates into the way I like to operate PGTP too!

7. I'm a creative! That means I love nothing more than when clients give me free reign to plan their entire event/setup 😍 I love coming up with new ideas all the time, even outside of work in everyday life!

8. I used to be petrfied of dogs! Now I'm a dog mama to an almost two year old Rottweiler named Ghost - IYKYK (If you don't know, he's named after the main character in TV show, Power!) He's a gentle giant!

9. But damn, I'm still freaking petrified of llamas/alpaca's 🙈

10. My coffee order is a Decaf Cappuccino with Almond Milk!
