Bringing softness to an industrial space is often a challenge. As event designers, we are often asked to make something impactful in an unassuming setting. The Aquarium has housed many fun moments for me and my children, but when Ellie asked me to bring a wedding to life among its walls, I had to really think it through. How would we make it feel inviting yet continue to embrace the fun that comes from the natural effects of the venue? Enter who made 90 panels of soft mink-colored swathed walls to create backdrops and corridors. Tables covered in eyelet overlays. Oversized and modern chargers paired with tortoise pattern cups and flatware. And a couple so in love, it just all paled in comparison. *

When I met with Billy and Thibault for the first time, we were at their home. They poured me a glass of bubbly and we looked out onto their phenomenal view of the marsh. I said, “we have to include this somehow.” So, the talented rendered the scene of their home onto their envelope liner of their invitations. Include a taupe ticking stripe as our underlying decor element and voila! A stunning and personally touched invitation suite that’s almost a piece of art. *
