It was around this time of the year, two years ago when I got first selected for the Contrair DJ-contest, one of the most unique festivals in our Belgium scene, in my opinion. This memory isn't about me though, but brings up a whole new level of nostalgy. I was so fortunate to play a set on Drrrip Radio, as a very unexperienced DJ and meet a very talented DJ and selector that happened to live less than 5 km away from me. I remember Mahyar Firouzi aka Mafi, opened his set with this beyond legendary track, that opens up your heart and puts a irrefutable smile on your face.
Here I am today, listening to this track and feeling nostalgic about those glorious days, while in quarantine.
It reminds me how powerful freedom really is, and how grateful we should be for all those very small moments of pure joy that go along with that freedom.
It encourages me to be compassionate and feel even more for all the people who live in harsher conditions, and might not be able to experience the freedom I'm speaking of. It encourages me to do more for others, always, and for now that is paradoxically doing not too much and staying home. That shouldn't hinder us to truly learn and grow from our current situation though, in order to become more true to ourselves, more compassionate towards others and evolve towards a society filled with love, gratitude and harmony, rather than one that is fueled by hatred and inequality.

What an awesome weekend. First of all thanks Oosthoek Live for having me again, it was a pleasure to be part of your festival. Props to the as ever heartwarming organization behind the scenes.
I'd love to give a little shoutout to the guys of El Sistema Pasota as well. Wonderful collective in Ghent, that is setting up a lot of different and worthy events of all kinds. Truly impressive on what level u guys are organizing stuff, without losing ur identity and keeping it real.
Last but not least thanks DJ ZWART for the unique evening in Afsnis Bij St Jacobs. Was a pleasure to play there, meet a lot other DJ's and people, while exploring new music.

This saturday however, I'm excited to be part of the Gentse feesten and play at BarBroos, with the Kelderkot movement for the second time.
