Co-fundador dos Irmãos Makossa e da marca de Afromats, Nelson Makossa tem rodado discos desde 2008 pelo país fora e não só! Apresenta na Yéyé o programa ‘África em Vinil’, onde divulga ritmos tradicionais e fusões musicais que surgiram no continente africano há muitos anos atrás e que se mantêm vivos no presente.

Nelson Makossa is a collector and DJ, passionate about the music produced in Africa, focusing his research on the 60's and 70's. Co-founder of the Makossa Brothers and the 'Slipmats Afromats' label, Nelson Makossa has been spinning records since 2008 throughout the country and beyond! He presents on Yéyé the programme 'Africa on Vinyl', where he promotes traditional rhythms and musical fusions which emerged on the African continent many years ago and which are still alive today.

Inspired by traditional Ankara designs and the colourful Kente cloth of Ghana, the creative minds behind Afromats are proud to present the first-ever range of vinyl record slipmats that sets African art in rotation, directly on your turntables.

We are the first of our kind; the first to weave the fabrics of Africa, in all their mesmerising colour and beauty, into a professional-grade slipmat. Lovingly hand-made from premium polyester felt, these elegant yet durable designs are produced to the highest quality to ensure that when you slip this mat over the player and set it to spin, you can hear the difference it makes.

Each Afromat has a bespoke design, hand drawn and then skilfully digitally reproduced.
