"Have You Met ... James"

James is a long time volunteer and hardware fan of the Truro JR "A" Bearcats. It just so happens that this upcoming 2023-2024 Season will be James' 14th season with the Bearcats.

He starts 14 years ago volunteering at the merchandise table at the old Colchester Legion Stadium. Now he's transitioned to do on-ice stuff at the RECC (pre-game ceremonies & intermission activities).

His favourite Bearcat moment: Phil Fife scoring the game winning goal in double overtime at the 2013 Fred Page Cup.

Favorite players over the years:
Doug Burns, Cole Julien, Maverick Goyer, Carter Answems, Carter McClusky and Kelsey Ouellet.

Week 27

"Have You Met ... Robyn"

After seeing her friend Lauren's session a few weeks back, Robyn showed some interest in participating in one of the upcoming weeks. It got pushed a few weeks due to the Forest Fires in Nova Scotia.

Robyn is a volunteer firefighter and recently just returned home after a stint in Shelburne searching for hot spots.

You may also recognize Robyn from your days at the RECC where she is a part time Spin Instructor.

She loves spending time with her husband, 3 step kids and her goofy Rottweiler ... She will be starting to teach some outdoor bootcamps in the Valley area.

"Have You Met ... Veronique"

Since I am spending most of the week in Moncton, I figured I would see if Vero was able to join me for this weeks portrait.

The first time I met Vero was when she joined her sister Jolene and I as we did a session in studio. Since then we have shot multiple times.

Vero is a mom of 3 awesome kids, she works in the school system and also runs "DanceFit Sisters" with sister Jolene.

It was nice to be able to have her join me this week as its always a pleasure :)

"Have You Met ... Julia"

One of the main reasons for deciding to do this series was about networking and meeting new people in and around the community.

I first met Julia when we met up at Starbucks before heading on location for the session. Most of the time these sessions take 30mins-1hr depending but once we got shooting a couple hours flew by. It felt a lot like sessions in Moncton. Not rushed. The funny thing is, Julia and I only talked the night before the session when she showed interest in taking part.

She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I'm hoping to be able to shoot again this summer.

Fun Facts about Julia:
* Played D1 Hockey for the University of New Hampshire.
* Recived a bachelor of science in Nutrition and Wellness.
* Comes home to Truro for the summer, lives in Michigan during winter hockey season.
LIKES: Golf, Roller Blading (that's dangerous around the Truro streets), Coffee Dates and coaching hockey.

"Have You Met ... Lauren"

You may recognize Lauren from the her job as the marketing promotion coordinator (where she handles: Social Media, marketing up-coming events and internal programs).

You can also find her at the Truro Jr A Bearcats games coming up with some fun games to entertain everyone during the intermissions.

The first time I met Lauren was in passing at the hockey games but it wasn't until the NHL Alumni game where I talked and got to know her a bit more. I look forward to working with her more in the future, whether its at the RECC or on another series.

Fun facts about Lauren:
* Spent 5.5 years working for Bouce radio in Truro.
* LOVES: Romantic Cheesy Books, Wine, Animals, Meeting New People, Family and of course her boyfriend Mitchell.
* HATES: The Cold.
* Completed her 1st half marathon.

"Have You Met ... Garric"

The mystery of the the missing Chicken Curry Poutine. Thats the memory I have of the first time I met Garric.

While on an away game in PEI, we decided on stopping at Hunters Ale House for some food (along with Nico). After picking up the food, we took it to the Eastlink Centre. I ate right away. Garric decided to save his post game.

After the game, we got settled on the bus and Garric asks me for his food? ... he didn't see it in the locker room where he left it and thought I brought it back on the bus. NOPE.

This is the case of the missing Chicken Curry Poutine. To this day we still have no clue what happened. LOL.

Garric was born in Hyattsville, Maryland. Went to school in Washington DC. He's currently Wing/Forward for the Truro Tide and sports jersey #31.

His previous team before joining the Tide was part of the league - Regionliga 2 in Germany, where he played for the Chiemgau Baskets.

If you haven't made it out for a Truro Tide game yet, I'd highly suggest doing so.
