Good morning! As a bit of a test, I've uploaded my first antique Japanese silk kimono to my Etsy shop!

I'm curious to see if there's a good bit of interest in authentic kimono. I now have well over 100 silk kimono (including wedding uchikake), juban, haori, obi, obijime, & obiage. If you've been looking for handmade 100% silk kimono, imported directly from Japan, please inquire!

Remember, these make luxurious dressing gowns and robes. The silk is incredibly soft and nearly all have silk embroidery.

What’s new on the AVWToo horizon? Vintage & antique 100% silk wedding & formal kimono direct from Japan!

Besides the ultra-amazing wedding uchikake & shiromuku uchikake, we also have dozens of silk furisode kimono en-route.

What are they? Uchikake are prized embroidered heirloom silk wedding kimono (the shiromuku are white).

Furisode are formal silk kimono with beautifully elegant designs. All are handmade. Furisode make excellent loungewear and robes, especially for honeymoons. 😊

Vintage hats are my current focus - literally, since I’m currently photographing them. 😊

All great vintage hats, even those that need a bit of love, are worthy of a second chance.
Vintage hats that featured birdcage veil netting will almost always need new replacement netting. Luckily, finding birdcage net is so easy and quite inexpensive.

I’m having so much fun photographing more of my (well over 200) vintage hats. I just love vintage hats! They have so much sass & personality and they say so much about the wearer. 😊

This yummy 1960s/70s basket hat is made of two-toned blue velvet. One side of the hat is royal blue, while the other side is deep sapphire blue. How fun is this!? Love it.

Gown donations welcomed!!

If you have a wedding gown/dress or vintage evening gown, etcetera, that you have no use for, or simply wish to get rid of, please consider gifting & sending it to AVWToo! Please don’t throw them away!

We accept donations of bridal and ladies formalwear that are in very good condition! Vintage is preferable, but non-vintage items are welcomed too.

The caveat is that the item cannot be ripped/torn/shattered or beyond salvation. Mildly to moderately stained items are accepted and will be cared for, washed/refreshed, and given another chance to be worn and loved.

I take great pride in my gowns and matching them to brides-to-be (or Moms, Maids) who will cherish them. I have happily done this for over 25 years!
