Georgia and I have been working diligently on this piece this week✨swipe for a little progress update✨

I had a few days this week where it seemed like I just forgot how to paint. I think today I finally pulled through the rut and began to make some more progress, and I’m seeing lots of potential here. So I’m excited!

Since this piece had a slightly more involved pattern, I decided to make the botanical patterns a little simpler - like silhouettes to represent the sun shining through the trees. What do we think so far?

This piece has almost acted like the master copy for the rest of this collection. Since making it, I’ve started taking small parts and blowing them up into their own paintings, and it’s been really fun to see them in different color palettes.

Today I started on the third piece in the collection and it’s a big one! (Check my stories for a peek) I’m excited to keep sharing the process✨

There’s a little afternoon thunderstorm just about every day here, and I’m so happy about it. I missed the coziness, subtle rumbles and the hour of gloomy shadows before the sun comes back out.

The desert was great for bright, sunny photoshoots, but now that we’re home, I’m learning embrace the soft light of an afternoon storm a little more

I started this painting in El Paso, and finished it back in our hometown in Louisiana. It only feels fitting since so many of these moments in time were captured here.

Almost every Christmas, for as long as I can remember, my great-grandma would gift us a handmade quilt. These “grandmama blankets” are a staple in my family’s homes, and I have a small collection of them myself. She lovingly signed each one, and they’re some of our softest blankets from years of late-night cuddles, sleepovers, and movie nights.

This new series of paintings is directly inspired by her colorful quilts. Each brushstroke mimics the careful stitching, and the vibrant colors echo the diverse fabrics she used. These paintings are memories stitched together, just like the patchwork in her creations. I’m excited to keep exploring the idea and finding new stories to tell with each new piece.

We’re back home for the summer & there’s so much just waiting to be painted. I’m starting work again on my big quilted piece today and I’m so excited!

We’re in the middle of a big move. I spent the week packing up the studio & wow I’m so excited to get back to this painting. It’s amazing all the ideas that come to mind when you can’t actually paint at the moment😂 hoping they stick around.

I almost didn’t include this piece in the collection. When I was halfway through, I thought that maybe it was too bold? The other pieces feature smaller, daintier looking florals and this zoomed in magnolia felt. Little out of place. But as I started drawing the leaves, I fell in love with the drama✨ these subtly shifting greens are just SO PRETTY!

“Sonoma Lemons” is available now!

And since I had a few people ask about prints, I decided to make the prints available today as well🍋

I took the reference photo for this painting on a trip to Sonoma. A friend and I were wandering around the town square on a day in early May. It was warm, but there was a crisp, cool breeze and the sweet smell of lemon blossoms filled the air. We had no plans - a wonderfully aimless afternoon.

I hope this painting conjures up your own memories of lazy days, cool breezes and the sweetness of spring🌸

I’ve had this photo in my phone for about a year now. I took it on a trip to Sonoma with one of my best friends. It was early May and the weather was absolutely perfect as we strolled around the town square. So this piece reminds me of a crisp breeze on a summer day and the sweet smell of a blossoming lemon tree🍋
