Our Story

The Xara Lodge has opened its doors after having been under construction since April 2010, and has been built to relive the glory of a traditional country house. Highly acclaimed architects and interior designers have been working closely with the experienced consultants in the Conference and Incentive trends, Banqueting ideals and Wedding fads, in order to complete the work to the high specifications. Location plays a major part to make this astonishing building and The Xara Lodge is located on an exceptional expanse of land surrounded by the country views. From The Lodge one can see the countryside as well as a picturesque postcard spectacle of Mdina and Rabat. On entering The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux one will notice the style of elegance. The Xara Lodge is in fact an extension of the services provided at The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux, a 17th century Palazzo in Mdina, Modern, Grand, Chic and Stylish, however on a much larger scale. The meeting rooms are designed to cater for the smaller groups from 10 up to 240 people. For banqueting requirements The Lodge can cater for groups up to 800 people. The outdoor dining is also suited for the smaller groups from 10 up to the larger number of 800 people, which can either be by the pool or on the top terrace under the stars. The Xara Lodge can handle events such as car launches, fashion shows, concerts, promotional events, team building events, weddings, large conferences with video conference and much more. The Lodge is designed to feel a home away from home with the extra luxury added with the pool, garden and limited garage parking spaces Our Chef de Cuisine, Kevin Bonello, will be in charge of the cuisine at The Xara Lodge together with his brigade of chefs. Kevin is known from the award winning restaurant De Mondion as well as the Trattoria AD 1530. Kevin Bonello is a multiple winner of an array of prestigious culinary awards both locally and abroad. His ultimate goal is to challenge the rigorous and exacting demands sought by the eponymous ‘Michelin Guide’, which would be the very first Michelin Star Award in Malta and Gozo. The kitchens at The Lodge are equipped with the latest supplies and technology in order to cater for your next event. The Xara Lodge is a unique and multi- purpose building which also will have the latest technology installed in order to make your conference, wedding, launch to stand out!
