Getting married in Western New York? Before you say “I do,” there’s one crucial step—getting your marriage license!

Here’s what you need to know:

✔️ You don’t need to be a NY resident, but your wedding must be in the state.
✔️ Apply at any Town or City Clerk’s Office (Buffalo, Rochester, Niagara Falls, etc.).
✔️ Bring a valid ID, birth certificate, and divorce/widow documents if needed.
✔️ You both must be present to sign the application.
✔️ There’s a 24-hour waiting period before you can use the license.
✔️ Your officiant must file your license after the ceremony to make it official.
✔️ The license is valid for 60 days—don’t let it expire!

💡 Avoid common mistakes! Double-check office hours, don’t forget your documents, and if your wedding gets postponed, apply for a new license before yours expires.

McKenna and Benjamin’s love story started with a “special weekend” (Benjamin may have let the surprise slip 😉), but it led to an unforgettable proposal by a pond in Pittsburgh. Overlooking the city, surrounded by trees where their pup Hopper took their first walk, Benjamin popped the question—and McKenna joyfully said yes! 🐾💍
Their wedding day at the Cracker Factory was just as special, filled with love, laughter, and all the industrial charm the venue has to offer. We were honored to officiate their beautiful ceremony and celebrate the start of this exciting new chapter!

Have you ever witnessed a love story so beautiful it takes your breath away? As a Wedding Officiant, I'm blessed to be part of many special moments, but Amanda and Brendon's celebration in Canandaigua, NY was truly one for the books!

From the moment I arrived at Kings Catering, I could feel the love and excitement in the air. The venue's rustic charm perfectly complemented the couple's vision, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for their guests. As I stood before Amanda and Brendon, ready to unite them in marriage, I was struck by the trust they placed in me to tell their unique love story.

What made this wedding stand out? It was the perfect blend of personal touches and professional excellence.
