⚠️DON’T FORGET SUNCREAM⚠️

If you were getting married abroad, you’d pack your suncream. I hope 🌞 But remember, it’s just as important to pack it for your wedding here! If you’re a pasty-pamela who burns in anything above 5 degrees, pack your suncream. If you’re getting married between March-September, pack your suncream. If you’re getting married outdoors and/or will be spending a great deal of time outside, for drinks reception or photographs, pack your suncream. Much better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it ☀️🧴

Rule applies to the happy couple, wedding party, guests and everyone else. Protect the pasty-pamelas 🫶

Have you been acting like a bridezilla?

Have you been a little ‘crazier’ than you intended? A little more hard-work? A little more forceful? A little more selfish? A little more sassy than you started out? That’s okay. This is your wedding. It’s stressful at times. I get it. But today’s the day you right your wrongs and make peace with the enemies. In-laws. Bridesmaids. Fiancée. Groomsmen. Your Mum. Your Sister. Your venue co-ordinator. Your baker. Your make-up artist. Whoever you think you could have pi**ed off lately. And I’m not saying buy them flowers and name a star after them. No no. Just a run-of-the-mill “sorry”. Sorry for not being as respectful to you as I should have been. Sorry for not showing you kindness or patience. Sorry for saying your idea was dog-s**t and giving you the finger when you walked away because you told me alpacas weren’t in the budget. Sorry.

But that goes the other way too. If anyone’s been horrible to you lately then here’s hoping they see this post and apologise to YOU. Maybe they’ve pushed theirrr wedding vision onto you. Maybe they’ve tried to have you copy their wedding day from 40 years ago. Maybe they’ve told you raspberry is an ugly colour and you should have violet instead. Whatever they’ve done, I hope they have the courage to admit it.

Maybe it goes even deeper. Maybe over the years, for whatever reason, you’ve lost friendships or family members. Maybe their was an argument or a fight or you’ve simply drifted apart. Whatever has happened, life is short. If it’s playing on your mind then it’s playing on your heart. Be the bigger person and send that text. You never know, they might be dying to speak to you again but not be brave enough to take the first step. Enjoy your wedding build up with no hard feelings. Spend your wedding day free of regret. Start your married life with peace. You can do it. 🖤

Now if there’s something I LOVE to watch, it’s tap dance. And if there’s something I LOVE to hear, it’s tap dance. Now if you know me, you’ll know I hateeeeeee annoying noises. I’m “sound-sensitive” as I call it. Imagine someone chewing crisps really loudly; breathing through their nose really loudly; picking their nails really loudly; tapping their fingers really loudly; ice hitting the inside of a glass. OH MY DAYS! I have a list as long as my arm of sounds that crack me up! “unnecessary noise” I call it (ask my husband, he’s the absolute worst for making the unnecessary noise 🤯🙉 But tap dance. Ooooooh it’s the perfect sound, beautiful noise, speaks to the soul👌

Are you a fan? Do you tap dance yourself? Does your partner? How amazing would it be if you were both tap-dancers and your first dance was you duetting - GOALS. Please invite me to that wedding. I need to be there! Or maybe you’re s**te. Maybe you couldn’t tap dance well to save your life. That’s okay. Lucky for you there’s some phenomenal talent in our wee country that you can book for your wedding! You could have some drinks reception entertainment and have your guests try and learn the steps so they can show it off when the cake’s been cut and the glowsticks come out later on. You could have them during dinner - in between main course and dessert when everyone’s full to the brim saying they shouldn’t have ate the whole thing but wondering what you’ve ordered for pudding. Let them slouch in their vegetative states and watch see some talent. You could book a group for later in the evening to really get the party started. VOILA 💃🏻👯‍♀️

✨See a penny, pick it up, all day long, you’ll have good luck. Are you a believer?✨

Are you one of those kind souls that only picks it up if it’s heads and flips it over if it’s tails, for the next person to come along and get the luck? 🥹

I’m one of those kind souls. Don’t get me wrong, I debate taking it, but then guilt eats me and I think someone must need it more than me (ffs lol) so I turn it over and put it back. If y’all have ever got good luck after picking up a penny… y’all are welcome. 💁🏻‍♀️

When it comes to weddings however, lucky pennies aren’t picked up or turned over, instead they’re put inside your wedding shoes! Back in the day, the father of the bride would place a sixpence in his daughter's shoe before she walked down the aisle. The sixpence stood for good luck, and to show the father wished his daughter prosperity in her marriage.🤞

Nowadays, some brides (and grooms) do it as a nod to tradition, or with the secret hope of adding some good luck to their marriage. Some even attach it to their bouquet or stitch it into their dress/suit.🪡

And did you know, the gorrrrrgeous all have a sixpence inside and the infamous quote on the sole? Swipe for proof 👉🪙

From one Chelsea flower show to another 🌷 Who else is drooling over the recent wedding pics of and ?? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Now don’t get me wrong, I was OBSESSED with their city nuptials! It was an absolute VIBE!⚡️

But you can’t deny that the pictures of their Sotogrande wedding are just simply STUNNING! ✨

I mean the flowers are to die for. And those sleeves. That dress. That second dress. The veil. The entertainment. The video’s Jamie’s uploaded 🫶🥹 What a gorgeous vision brought to life in a showstopper setting! 💒

Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! They really got the best of both worlds getting hitched! So if this doesn’t make you want to normalise having two weddings, then I don’t know what will if I’m honest!! 💍💍

Today is day one of the Chelsea Flower Show, so let’s talk flowers 🌸

Do you know your sweet peas from your peonies? Your tulips from your orchids? Your roses from your dahlias?

Fear not. We are sooooooo lucky to have an ARRAY of fanTAStic florists in Northern Ireland! You don’t need to speak fluent flower, that’s what your florist is for. You just need to have a vision. Or let me help you create one. Or let them help you create one. With some meetings and emails, they’ll bring the vision to life with a beautiful bouquet 💐

The supplier included in the images above is the wonderful 🌷 Not only does Susanna create the most divine bouquets, but all of her gorgeous flowers are homegrown! You can also swipe to picture number 3 to see the beautiful Susanna with her handiwork 🌸🌼

Then….. if you don’t intend to let your wedding party keep their bouquets or plan to leave them on the graves of loved ones, how about preserving them/framing them/displaying them around your marital home. Believe me, it’ll make cleaning the house much less dreadful if you’ve lovely things to look at in each room - like stunning pictures of your big day or the gorgeous bouquets you had. Suppliers like , , and many more, can offer this! 🖼️

🍴National Waitstaff Day🍴

Take a minute to think about the waiting staff who could be anywhere in the world on your wedding day but will instead be right there with you, doing everything they can to make sure you and your guests receive some delicious food, refreshing drinks and wonderful service 👌

Mentally thank them in advance. Actually thank them on the day. And be sure to include them in the thank you card to your venue or catering company post-wedding. I can guarantee you they’re one of the least appreciated heroes of your wedding 🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏼‍♂️

So this goes without saying, maybe, but if you know you’ll have guests who will need disability access, only look at venues that have it! You’ll only break your heart if you book a viewing, fall in love then find out there’s no disability access, knowing it’s crucial for your grandparents/parents/guests/partner. Check if there’s a lift, a ramp, larger bedrooms if staying, aisle space that’ll be wide enough for a wheelchair, disabled toilet, quiet room… the essentials. Or whatever your individual needs may be 🫶

This is why I tell my couples all the time, it’s so important to make a “non-negotiables” list at the very start of your planning. Literally after the ring, before the research, or as early as you can, make sure to establish, as a couple, three things - your “non-negotiables”, your “what we would like” and your “if money allows”. And if accessibility applies hugely, make sure you write it at the top of the list!🔝✅

We’re also REALLY lucky that loadsssssssssss of our gorgeous venues in NI have accessibility, so you’ll still be spoilt for choice! 🤩🥰

And how many of you have spent FAR TOO MUCH MONEY?! Some might say, but not me, I won’t say that. I get it girl. I feel your need! 💕 BRAND. NEW. WHITE. SPARKLY. COLOURFUL. MAGICAL. ESSENTIAL. WEDDING STATIONERY - - - It’s like the best part of planning is it not? 📚🤩

Now the word count you’re allowed for Instagram posts is NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH for me to share my love for stationery! But take my word, I’m obsessed❣️

Now if you spell it ‘ary’ then you’re wrong ❌ Just saying 💁🏻‍♀️ actually did a great public display for this just yesterday if you need confirmation 🙇🏻‍♀️👏

So today is national drawing day. And if you’re anything like me, you can’t draw for s**t. You think you can. And over the years you may have fooled yourself into thinking you can. But you can’t. I remember once in high school, my art teacher going mad at me because I had the audacity to use a ruler during her sacred art class. And when I say mad I mean NUTS! The same art teacher actually once called me a “lady of the night” for putting Vaseline on my lips a cold December day when it was baltic and everyone’s lips were chapping. I may have said thank you because I didn’t know what a lady of the night was at the time, but that’s a story for another day. Back to drawing ✍️

You may in fact be a professional or at least half-decent. But it IS your wedding day after all and I assume you want it to be CLASS, so how about booking someone wonderful like 🎨 That way you can guarantee the drawing will be MAGICAL and your guests will be amazed! ✨

Booking Emma would be a great way to:
• keep your guests entertained in the afternoon
• offer unique place settings and/or favours
• enhance your evening 🤗

You’ve invited your loved ones. Your friends, family, colleagues… They’ve booked the day off work to come see you say I DO. You’re touched. They’re honoured to be there. And they’re doing everything they can to make sure you and your partner have the best day ever. How do you show your appreciation?

Favours. Unique favours. If you’re still searching then please consider one of these unique + personal examples (totally dependent on your numbers/budget ofc!)

🎶 Music. And not just any music. Your wedding music. Choose 10 songs that‘ll be included in your wedding (e.g. what you’ll walk down the aisle to, what they’ll hear as you sign the register, first dance) + burn them onto CDs. Give one to each of your guests to take home. Whether they’re in the car on their way to work or popping some music on for a romantic dinner date at home… they’ll hear your wedding day all over again!

🌙 Crystals. And not just any crystals. I don’t mean wine or whiskey glasses, I’m talking “all-about-good-energy” crystals. If you’re a fan already and feel a certain one has worked wonders for you, share it. Or if you’ve no idea but like the sound of it, do some research online or talk to someone in the know. Rose Qurartz is popular for love & romance or Jade is popular for luck & wealth.

🍷 Alcohol. And not just any alcohol. Find out each person’s favourite bevvy + get them a miniature. Their first drink of the night is on the newlyweds!

🕯️Candles. And not just any candles. No vanilla bean or lavender here. Unless you want there to be. How about creating a unique scent with and ordering miniature versions for your guests to take home. They’ll be smelling your wedding day for weeks!

✍️ Poetry. And not just any poetry. Personalised poetry. How about booking me through here or .ni to create a mini poem for each guest. You send me a few facts/things you love about each one + I create a few cracking verses for their place name. Personal + funny = the perfect combo!

And if your wedding day falls on a Wednesday/Saturday, you could take it one step further and buy a lucky dip for each table. If the table wins, they split the winnings or use it as a bar tab! 🥳
