The Backyard Barbershop Bash is a casual performance series featuring Barbershop music, friendship and fun. We're kicking off the inaugural Backyard Barbershop Bash on August 26, 2017, with more dates to be added in Summer 2018. We have lots of barbershop quartets in the Baltimore area, but not nearly enough performance opportunities to go around. The rising cost of performance venues means that b

arbershop chapter show ticket prices keep rising too. Quartets need places to sing, and barbershop fans need inexpensive shows to attend. The Backyard Barbershop Bash addresses these problems for the benefit of the entire barbershop community!

Each Backyard Barbershop Bash show offers FREE admission for all audience members, and the quartets are performing for free. Donations will be gladly accepted and divided amongst all the evenings' performing groups. Food and beverages will be available for purchase for a modest donation. Guests are welcome to bring your own picnic basket if you prefer. The Bash will take place in Lustre's Backyard - literally - so guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show from the lawn.

With a lot of happy memories and some amount of sadness , I've decided that I am retiring the Backyard Barbershop Bash. The COVID crisis has taken a toll, of course, but also, I feel led to put my energies into serving the Sweet Adelines community in different ways these days.

Thank you to all the quartets who crossed our makeshift stage over the 9 Bash events that we held in 2017-2019, and thank you to all of the friends and family who came and supported those quartets. We had a lot of fun, didn't we?
