I'm Jillian, a writer, teacher, and former labor support doula who has been officiating weddings since 2012. As a doula, I supported families in the process of labor and birth, and Ioved getting to talk with people about their hopes, fears, and desires for such a life-changing experience. I really missed making that connection when I left the birth world to focus on writing and teaching, and have
been incredibly happy to find myself once again getting to couples on a big day through wedding officiating! I think of myself as a wedding doula, offering the same grounded and good-humored presence during the wedding planning process and ceremony that I was able to offer during pregnancy and labor. This combines beautifully with my love of interviewing and writing and I write highly personalized wedding ceremonies, built around an interview with the couple and exchanges with family and/or friends to find the stories that seem to best capture the couple's love. My mission is to make a space where the two of you can feel relaxed, present, and fully in touch with the joy of celebrating the love and commitment that you've made to one another!
