A week ago, I got a phone call from LA— “Crystal, I am flying to Sydney next week for my birthday. Just like our wedding, can you plan my birthday party?”

gave the brief over a phone call, and in less than a week, here we are celebrating and reunited!

It’s so nice to reconnect with Sergey & again years after their wedding and since they moved to the US! It was so great to see so many familiar faces from their wedding too. This event was so fun to plan, and the day was even more beautiful with all these wonderful people!

LITURGY OF THE WORD 📖
You may choose people from your entourage, family members or other selected guest to do the readings at your church ceremony.

• A reader is allocated to do the first reading.
• The responsorial psalm may be sung or recited.
• Another reader is allocated to do the second reading however this may be omitted if you and your priest choose to do so.
• The gospel acclamation can also be sung or recited
• The gospel and homily are delivered by the officiating priest.

In addition to these readings, you will need to allocate another reader for the Prayer of the Faithful aka the Universal Prayer which takes place after the Marriage rites.

Who signs the Marriage Certificate?
In Australia, the marriage certificate is signed by:
• The couple getting married
• The celebrant (officiant)
• Two witnesses

The witnesses can be your Maid of Honour and Best man or other representatives such as your godparents.

In NSW, couples receive a commemorative certificate on the day of their wedding. The official marriage certificate is issued by the NSW Registry of births, deaths & marriages after the celebrant registers the marriage.

Some couples have requested for additional witnesses to sign especially those with multiple godparents. This can be discussed with your celebrant; it can usually be done at the back of the commemorative certificate.

The processional is the formal entrance and bridal march before the wedding ceremony begins. The order of the march and the seating of your entourage are included in the details we go through during our final meeting and your wedding rehearsal.
Some things to consider when planning your March:
• Will the groom and his groomsmen be walking or will they already be at the altar?
• If you have principal and secondary sponsors, will they be walking?
• Will you have flower girls and page boys?
• Who is walking with the bride?
• If the bride is wearing a veil, at which point would she like this removed?
• Song selection - will the bride be walking down to her own song or a continuation of the first song?

We make sure your ceremony starts on time. If you have late guest arrive once the processional has begun, we either redirect them to another entrance or ask them to wait until you are at the altar before entering the church.

An organised processional allows for a smooth ceremony.

Kicking off 2024 with our first wedding of the year and a 7am call time. The day started with a tea ceremony at the bride’s family home. and her bridesmaids wore a Vietnamese ao dai and and his groomsmen wore a Filipino Barong.

The tea ceremony began with challenges the bridesmaids setup for the groom and his groomsmen to prove the groom’s worthiness to enter the house and see his bride. It was so much fun! This was then followed by the formalities of the tea ceremony and eating time 🤤 Everything was soo delicious!

In the afternoon, we all headed to for the church ceremony where they also included the Filipino wedding traditions.

Congratulations again to our beautiful couple and 💕 Your heartfelt speeches honouring your families is nice foresight to the kind of family you will build together. Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day and we hope you get some well deserved rest ☺️
