It may be cold out there, but it’s toasty warm in here. We’ve got the heaters on and the winter-warming favourites ready to go. Come in for lunch today and enjoy a big bowl of our delicious osso buco served with a crispy fried parsnip cake. It’s sure to warm you up from the inside.

The King's Birthday High Tea
Monday 12th June 2023

To celebrate King Charles's upcoming birthday we'll be open on the public holiday for one of the very last events we will be holding at Carrick Hill. Join us for a fantastic high tea, suitable fit for royalty (and us common folk).

Set Menu High Tea / $60 per person
10am-3pm

Surrounded by the idyllic garden setting, join us for an abundance of savoury and sweet treats, a tea or coffee and a glass of bubbles all presented on a clothed table, complete with a vase of seasonal flowers picked straight from the garden. Indulge in our renown house-made pastries, delicious pies, sandwiches, tarts, scones and cakes.
A real afternoon tea, featuring good old-fashioned favourites, all made by hand.

Savoury
Assorted finger sandwiches
Three savoury finger food items such as housemade pastries, little chicken pies,
duck puffs, mushroom and truffle arancini*

Sweet
Scones with jam and cream
Three sweet treats such as little lemon curd tarts, Belgian chocolate cake,
mini pavlova with fruit and cream*

Drinks
1 glass of Second Nature sparkling wine
1 tea or coffee

If the transition back to work has been a little traumatic, we've got the perfect remedy – come to Carrick Hill tonight for knock-off drinks and a bite to eat at Ursula's Gin Bar.

Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas - it sure has come around quickly this year! We'll be closing at 3pm today in readiness for Christmas Day tomorrow. Ursula's Gin Bar is now fully booked for tomorrow, Friday 16th December. We are taking bookings for next Friday though - the 23rd of December—a wonderful way to either wind down from the year that was, or a chance to get into party mode for the festive days ahead!

We're open and ready to take your coffee order. We sometimes get questions about the cost of our coffee so let's set the record straight… you can purchase a standard single shot coffee, served in a cup for you to enjoy in the marquee for $5. If you'd like alternative milks, that's an extra buck, but if you'd like a coffee to go, our takeaway cups hold 340ml (almost double the standard cup size) and they are $6.50.

Our takeaway cups and lids are fully compostable which is important to us as they are better for the environment. And, we always use Fleurieu Milk cows' milk which costs a little more but it means we're supporting a local supplier which is also high on our agenda. If you have any questions, please ask our staff when making your order.

Always on the cafe menu and available at Ursula's Gin Bar this Friday evening, our Tabel Picnic Platter… Middle Eastern fried chicken (gf), mushroom and truffle arancini (v), aged cheddar with carrot and ginger chutney, pâté with pickled cherries, cured meat, fennel grissini, hummus, olives, housemade sourdough bread and fresh fruit. Every morsel delicious.

In BOM we trust! The forecast says the rain will pass by morning so Ursula's Gin Bar will be open this Friday night from 6pm as planned. And even if they get it wrong, we've got live music with Fleur Green at 7pm and we'll have the heaters on in the marquee that overlooks the beautiful rose garden, the perfect spot for a delicious dinner and a drink or two if it's chilly.

TONIGHT URSULA'S GIN BAR IS BACK FOR 2022!
In what feels like the fastest year ever, the onset of daylight savings heralds the return of our ever-popular Ursula's Gin Bar. Join us every Friday evening from 6pm until 10pm and don't worry if gin's not your thing – we have all of our regular cocktails, wines, beers and spirits available too.

Bring a friend, your work mates or the whole family and enjoy a relaxed evening under The Elms at Carrick Hill with a bite to eat and a cold glass of something while you watch the sun set. Our heated marquee will also be open for those looking to enjoy a cosy dinner.

Unfortunately due to COVID-related circumstances beyond our control, the Carrick Hill café will be closed today for the ANZAC day public holiday. Carrick Hill will still be open if you'd like to visit the magnificent house or tour the beautiful gardens.

Unfortunately, we've taken a hit this weekend with staff isolating or unwell so we've temporarily limited our menu to a selection of favourite dishes which will help us accommodate everyone.
