Hi all you beautiful souls! It's been a HOT minute. I hope everyone had a decent break and a lovely festive season and that the start of the year has brought you all such beautiful blessings!

I'm dropping my first post of the year with some awesome news!
I will be playing at the Vegan Hippie Connection Market Jhb (At pirates sports club, Greenside) again for the first time in 2 years! So my excitement is through the roof because we always have such a jol outisde, in the sun, with amazing people, great food and lots of love!

Thank you Earthdance JHB 2024 for the incredible festival. With such amazing performances. Such beautiful people. Such breath taking views. Such effort put into all the decor. And such love put into the event. It was an absolute honor to jam out on your stage!

Also a massive thanks to for the beautiful pictures that were captured! Really appreciate it!

And yes, the song in this clip is a little preview of one of my singles - Low Must Go - that I am currently working on that will be releasing soon ☺️ I appreciate the patience as I am learning recording, mixing, mastering and producing all by myself from scratch and I can't wait to share it officially with you all! It's coming!

Hey buuudies! I'm making this post seeking some advice from the producers out there!

I've been working on mixing and mastering my own tracks, so far so good. The only thing I'm struggling with and my main block so far has been vocals. I produce and mix on Ableton Live suite.

I've done hours of research and testing and I still can't get the vocals to sound the way I'd like them to. I'm facing 2 issues:

1. I've played with EQ and plugins, but is there a specific way that I can make vocals sound more forward and crisp in the mix without making them louder?
2. The stock plugin reverb of Ableton seems to have a really tinny after sound, almost making the vox sound a touch static. Does anyone have go to settings for the stock plugin on Abletons vox reverb or are there any free plugins someone can recommend? And what are your go to settings for those plugins?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! The songs are basically ready to go, my main thing that's holding me back is getting the vox LEKKER! Any and all help and advice would be appreciated. Please and thank you.

It's coming.

I've received help from so many people, but in the end, I can't rely on other people to get me to where I need to be.

I've been broken down by "professionals" about how the quality of my recordings isn't good enough and so I pay for the expertise and assistance and I never get my songs back. And when I do it's anyway not up to the standard of what I'd like to release. So I'm done waiting and hoping there will be someone to help me "make it" and "get there" these last 6 months I've been self-studying HARDCORE and I've now started recording, mixing, producing and mastering my own songs. I've made peace with the fact that they won't be perfect. But at least I'll have released something. And the more I do it, the more I learn and grow. Had I not listened to people's criticisms 4 years ago and just carried on with doing what I was doing I would be 4 years ahead right now. Imagine how good I could've been with recording, mixing and mastering. But I've put the notion of being "behind" out of my mind and I've been WORKING. I've put my all into these songs as much as I can and hopefully before the end of this year I can kick off my first releases as an independent artist.

I'm not waiting or hoping on perfection anymore. I will never be perfect. But I will strive for progress. And I strive for my music to be shared. And these first songs that I'll be releasing will become an archive of where I started and how much I'll grow from here on out. I'm taking things into my own hands fully and officially.

The sooner this is Learned, the happier an artist will be.

I just wanted to do a throwback to last week Friday and thank Sunset Shake for the awesome event and AJ's Pub Music for the incredible sound! It sounds distorted in the video, but that's because it was PUMPING!

This is an original song of mine called Feel Like Myself. Do I have a bad habit of playing brand new songs the same week I write them? Hell yeah! Will I continue to do so? Definitely 🤟

Behold! This is by far my most favourite picture ever captured of me. By the INCREDIBLY talented

I don't know how this man does it, but every time I'm blown away and I'm always looking forward to seeing our shows through his lens.

I'm one of those people that don't really like having pictures taken of me as I'm always kind of left feeling disappointed with how I translate on camera. But Dave nails it 110% of the time. And instead of feeling nervous to see myself, I get excited!!
