One of my jobs is at the East Village's historic Theatre 80, which is in danger of closing its doors. ALL upcoming shows are to benefit the theater, and its future is uncertain after next week! Many are a suggested donation, unless otherwise noted. Please give generously if you are able! Tonight (Tuesday) is a night of eclectic and creative evening of live music. Two separate shows tonight.
***Tonight, 7pm - 8:30pm: Composers Concordance Presents:
Dan Cooper Quartet, (Bass/Piano/Flute/Drums/Poetry) Gene Pritsker’s Sound Liberation (Rapper/Composer/Guitarist), violinist Lynn Bechtold, and tap dancer Max Pollak. Tickets: $15.
***Tonight:, 9:45pm - 11pm: Stride Pianist Jon Weber
“You’re drawn into the mesmerizing quality of the mainstream and its journey from Ragtime syncopation to Bebop and beyond. Weber says it with backbeats, suitelike movements, and a cast of characters who comply by supplying superb musicianship.” (CADENCE MAGAZINE) Tickets: SUGGESTED DONATION: $20

For over 60 years, the venue has hosted numerous plays and musicals including the original production of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
