WHAT A MONTH! Oh my goodness, guys (and gals and theys)âI am bursting with excitement and exhaustion and gratitude over how wild and wonderful this past month has been! December has been an absolute rollercoaster ride of holiday parties, corporate gigs, virtual shows, and enough driving trips to fill an entire map of California with pins. I donât usually post a ton here on Facebook, but so much has happened that I just have to share all this incredible magic (pun intended!) with you. Seriously, itâs been a nonstop parade of fun and work, and my camera roll is overflowing with pictures I canât wait to share below.
One of my biggest highlights this season waaaaaaasâŚ. Getting the chance to perform for some truly phenomenal companies. Seriously! Iâve been doing everything from close-up magic at intimate gatherings to epic virtual mentalism shows beamed across the country. The list of clients who brought me into their holiday festivities still blows my mind: Shopify, SmarterShips, Edgemesh, Amwins, Amazonâs Music Team, GM Properties, Kiewit, BetterWorks, the Google AI User Experience Team, Panda Express, Recor Medical, Animoto, Osmind, PCCTC, the American College of Radiology IT department, and even 7-Eleven! Trust me, thereâs something surreal (in the best way) about strolling around a party performing illusions, or logging onto a Zoom call to wow people from all over the world. Every single one of these shows was a complete joy, and I am so honored I got to play a small role in everyoneâs holiday celebrations.
And speaking of massive honors, I just have to shout this from the rooftops: I did a virtual holiday show for the amazing folks at Zapier! For those of you who donât know, Zapier is an automation platform that hooks up different apps and services so you can streamline your workflow. If youâre sitting there thinking, âHuh, never heard of it,â donât worry, youâre not alone. But if youâre like me and have used Zapier to basically turn into a time saving witch, then youâre definitely an entrepreneur nerd! Getting to share some magic with a team that is literally all about making digital magic happen and saving people their life hours -felt like a match made in heaven. I was so jazzed! It was one of those pinch-me moments that made me realize just how lucky I am to do what I do.
Now, letâs talk about the not-so-glamorous side of this whirlwind month: the driving. The back pain. WOW THE BACK PAIN. đđđđ
Let me tell you, I have been behind the wheel more than behind the deck of cards or even computer lately! There have been so many nights where Iâve stacked multiple shows one after another, hopping in my car as soon as Iâm done at one party, then racing over to the next. Sometimes I canât help but wonder if it would be easier (and maybe even more profitable!) to just do one massive, amazing show for a single company and call it a night. But then I remember how fun it is to pop into different events for a quick 1-2 hours of walk-around magic, bringing that holiday cheer to so many different people. Itâs like choosing between a giant, glorious feast at one table versus handing out little, delicious yum yum treats to a whole bunch of friends. Both approaches have their charm, but I do love sprinkling the joy aroundâespecially during the holiday season.
And can we just take a moment to appreciate how unbelievably cool my job is? I mean if youâre a magician friend reading thie - I mean, we get paid to pretend we have superhuman magical abilities, and people actually believe itâat least for a few spellbinding moments! Itâs basically getting paid to lie in the most enchanting and truthful way possible. If that isnât bending reality or âbreaking the matrix,â Iâm not sure what is. I wake up every morning and pinch myself, thinking, âWait, this is my real life? I get to astonish people for a living?â 12 year old me would be so excited. I also think I'm starting to narrow down my vibe/brand as a magician. I am dressing more how I'd like to dress and hinting at my retro vibes while trying to be glam and also modern. -It's a delicate balance but I think I'm getting there. I love vintage but I find that's not as good of a style for many of the corporate events I'm doing. (side-note let me know what you think of my style in my december photos? Should I dress more modern or more vintage or is what I've settled on a nice in between ?)
Another bucketlist highlight of my jam-packed month was my appearance on the daytime news talk show called Live on the Bay, hosted in San Francisco by the lovely and gracious Rachel and Jessica. These two were so welcoming and such a delight to hang out with backstage, on setâeverywhere! They invited me on to showcase some of my magic, and we had an absolute blast. I even gave them each their very own magic kits for their nieces and nephews for the holidays! -we all need more magic, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. đ
And thatâs really what this month has been about: connecting with people, creating little pockets of wonder, and sharing in the universal fun of the holidays. From Panda Express having me (you know Iâm obsessed with their food!) to the high-tech Zapier virtual show: every event has left me feeling grateful and energized. Iâve got so many pictures: silly bathroom selfies before I step on stage, candid snaps of me wowing guests, and behind-the-scenes moments that capture all the silliness that happens when youâre racing from gig to gig. I even hired a photographer and videographer whoâs amazing to come to gigs with me (Iâll share that footage later!)
So âIâm posting an enormous photo dump, stuffed with all the best moments and memories from December big and small. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, and booked me to come spread a little enchantment this holiday season. Youâre the reason I can keep doing what I love, one magical day at a time. Itâs been a hectic few weeks, but I wouldnât trade it for the world.
I hope your holidays were just as fun, and hereâs to an even more amazing new year! I canât wait to see what fresh adventures, new shows, and maybe even more driving (yes, more driving!) 2025 will bring. Stay magical, my friendsâthis journey is only getting started!
