Warning—if you don't like long rambling posts that eventually get to a point but are still totally hilarious? Scroll on, friend... oh, wait, they already left? COME BACK HERE AND READ THIS!

Pssh, their loss.

Anyway, so, a while back I used to write really long IG posts about "things." And then, I stopped. Why? Because I got it into my head that no one wanted to read/see/hear about these things.

Probably because Reels were invented and everything had to be danced out or lip-synced, and then I just up and died because—NO. I am an introvert and I believe in making an ass out of myself live and in person, thankyouverymuch.

So instead of doing anything, I just stared at my computer in analysis paralysis because what in god's name could I do if I wasn't going to dance, lip sync, or point at random spaces in the air?

Nothing. That's what. (Take that.)

But, my god, I've missed this. So I'm bringing it back and I don't care if IG banishes me to the void for it. (They'll probably find a way to turn this into a Reel automatically.)

Anyway—one question that keeps coming up is whether or not RAW FOOTAGE comes with our packages. It took me a little while to figure out that it wasn't that people were hot for raw footage but they were confusing it with a different type of film.

So what are people believing raw footage to be?

= A solid 8 hours of video of their wedding—just not cut up and edited into a fancy movie.

So what is raw footage REALLY? (Especially if it's not a really really long movie like you thought it was)

= It's all the raw clips from your wedding in a not-particularly easy-to-watch order and definitely not on a watchable timeline.

Should I get it?

• It depends. Are you the kind of person who only wants to see perfection? Then no.

• Are you the kind of person who wants to see everything we filmed even if it wasn't perfect and discover gems you might treasure forever? Then Yes.

To get a better idea of why—read all the panels!

How often have you asked people (and Googled) if wedding videography is worth it?

How many people told you that it was? Or told you that it was the one thing they regretted NOT getting—but they only found that out after their wedding and now the memories are gone?

But then the question keeps popping into your head because of reasons. (Ugh!)

When you break it down for yourself—what is the basic question you're trying to answer.

DO YOU WANT TO REMEMBER YOUR OWN WEDDING?

Yeah. You do.

Not only will a wedding film will allow you to remember it in its entirety. It's the ONLY thing that can allow you to experience the day and those feelings all over again (and again, and again).

Naturally, the next question—is it worth spending thousands of dollars for this?

Good question. The answer will be different for everyone.

Let's talk through the reality of what this will get you outside of "wedding memories."

Will it be worth it to hear your parents tell you how proud they are of you 40 years from now after they're gone?

Will it be worth it to see the excited look in your partner's eyes after you've had children for 15 years?

Will it be worth it when you watch the pure joy in your children's faces that they get to participate in a piece of your history?

Will it be worth it when this has been a part of your yearly anniversary tradition? And when you watch it again on your 25th wedding anniversary with the same people who are in your wedding party?

Will it be worth it to see how glorious everyone was when they were young, healthy, and trouble-free?

Chances are, you don't think about those things now.

But I'm on the other side of 40, and I can tell you how much life changes.

It always changes faster than you want it to. Life simultaneously goes slowly and lightning-fast.

You're going to blink and 15 years will have flown by. It's astonishing.

And to have something concrete from the past that allows you to relive one of the most beautiful moments with all your family and friends?

That's downright priceless.

It's been quite a while since I've last introduced us.

We're Cindy & Sean—husband & wife videographers on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. And we travel throughout the east coast, filming the love story of couples with incredible stories.

Like most of our couples, Sean's family vacationed here for decades and when he and I started dating—he introduced me to the Cape. I instantly fell in love.

Cape Cod has always been our happy place.

It was our happy place when we lived and worked in NY/NJ.

We dreamt about it when we were stuck in wall-to-wall traffic on the GW.

Wallpapered our cubicles with photos from trips here.

Retold stories of epic family vacations over and over.

And now that we live here—it's still our favorite place on earth.

There's something special about Cape Cod.

It's restorative. It's a place that nurtures you. You come here to connect and decompress.

It's the place you summered while growing up. The place your grandparents had a cottage for ages.

It's warm and familiar. Memories of it are like being wrapped in your favorite blanket on a chilly night.

You want to bring anyone who's special to you—HERE. Because, well, it's so you.

There's no way to put the Cape into words. It has to be experienced. You GET IT, or you don't.

That's why you instantly knew, "THIS is where we have to get married." No contest.

This is where you start your new beginning.

And that MEANS something to us.

Your wedding film is so much more than just a record of what happened that day.

It's a living heirloom that allows you to relive the magic of your wedding 50 years from now. Can you imagine being able to feel the feelings all over again?

Even sharing it with little ones that come into your life.

It needs to reflect who you are and what's special to you. Show your true spirit.

We capture all that love and more. We make sure your connection to the Cape comes through, too.

What's your favorite thing about Cape Cod? And why did you pick it as the place to get married?

When Steph inquired about us filming her wedding, she captivated us with the story of how she wore out the VHS tape of their parents' wedding and that, although they're avid movie watchers, her parents' wedding video was her all-time favorite.

She loved that she could revisit the moments that were responsible for so much of her before she even existed. And now she couldn't wait to share these same moments with her own future kids and hope they love her film just as much for all the same reasons.

Then my heart burst because clearly one of the most thoughtful and kind people in the universe reached out to us.

Steph and Chris are two people who define the total package. More beautiful inside than out (if you can believe it and you almost can't until you get to know them).

A week ago they had a wedding and a day so beautiful, it was nearly impossible to choose what to feature and so the only thing that made sense was to almost exclusively feature them.

While I'm here, I want to take a hot sec to point out these two identify as camera shy. This is why trust and confidence with those you work with are so important (whoever that ends up being).

Friends, we're honored to share this sneak peek with you and to have worked with some of Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard's finest.

You just can't beat a romantic wedding dress twirl in slow motion.

What do you think—love it or leave it?

Let me know in the comments!

Things you've done when you're in love with Cape Cod and the Islands:

1️⃣ Played mini-golf to determine who takes the first shift on the drive home so the winner can take in the last precious moments of scenery without distractions.

2️⃣ Nothing against your significant other, but you've actually pledged your love to a special lobster roll in your life.

3️⃣ You've named a pet after a Cape Cod town, restaurant, or beach.

4️⃣ Before your visit, you've planned where you'll eat and drink for the first 4 meals—and it's the EXACT SAME places every time you go there... but you plan it out again because you have to.

Raise your hands in the comments if this is you. And if your traditions are different—tell us what you do!

We create more than just a wedding film. But what exactly does that MEAN?

A wedding film is LITERALLY (in the full sense of the word) the only thing that will let you experience your wedding day over again. The sounds, the movement, the laughter, the dancing—all the people gathering to celebrate the day that belongs to THE TWO OF YOU and you alone.

There is no other day you'll have that gives you this experience.

It's likely I have a good 20 years on you and I've lived through what you're about to experience. I know the challenge of what life is going to serve up to you. I know the love and the loss that will come your way.

And I know that, as much as we all adore photography, VIDEO is the only thing that will allow you to relive those moments in their entirety.

When time eventually takes the people who matter most from you—I know that feeling you'll have 20 or 25 years from now where you will say that you swear you would pay ANYTHING to hear them say how proud of you they were again.

Memories grow more precious the older we get.

Cobwebs start to collect in the corners of our minds that used to be sharp and pristine. They get filled with the kinds of miscellaneous things you find in mismatched boxes of dusty attics. The phone number of your best friend in grade school. The faint memory of the scent of the perfume of your eighth-grade teacher. The time you missed the goal in Junior Varsity Soccer.

I know it because I've lived through it.

So when I say that we create more than just a wedding film, I mean that we capture your future history. These will be the memories that will be irreplaceable a few years from now. These are the films that your children will have as a base for where they came from. This will be the film you go back to when you want to feel like a warm familiar blanket is wrapped around you.

This is might not be your only biggest and happiest day ever. But it will rank as one of the highest. And it's a day you should capture as much as possible so you keep it for as long as possible.

What do you think? Is photography enough? Let us know in the comments.

06/04/2022

Should your friends film your wedding? That's a good question, especially if your wedding is right around the corner and you're feeling the pressure of whether to book a professional or just have a friend or a relative do it.

The appeal of "everyone has a camera in their back pocket" is a really tempting idea to jump on.

Aside from the obvious things you'd miss... like the professional footage you'll receive, audio you can hear, and a film delivered on time. There are things to consider that you won't EVER think about, well, thinking about.

Things like: will that friend hit record (they are a guest having fun at a wedding and mistakes happen especially when you're wrapped up in a moment). Will it make you angry if they didn't? Is there a chance it'll ruin your friendship? Because things like that happen.

How do you feel about confronting said friend... multiple times if they don't get you your film?

If you have a friend who IS aggressive about getting that footage—they could ruin your expensive photographer's pics. Just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But above all else... there's a level of stress leading up to your wedding that is hard to imagine until you're going through it.

Sean and I work our butts off BEFORE your wedding to make sure you have an experience that's stress-free.

Before your wedding, you never have to wonder if we know what we're doing, what's important, and we also help to shape your vision. Because you didn't know that kind of thing was something you'd even need. (Because, why would you?)

I honestly think the only other client experience more comprehensive than ours are wedding planners. We. Are. ON. It. All the things you've ever hated about video—we help you with.

It's how we manage to be our clients' favorite vendor (and out of 13 vendors per wedding... there's a lot of competition).

So should you have a friend or family member film your wedding?

I'd say it depends on your priorities.

Are your memories important to you? Do you have the budget to spend on it?

Only YOU can answer this.

If you have any questions—drop 'em in the comments or DM us!

Well, that's a curtain call on a doozy of a year! I don't know what it felt like for y'all but for your wedding vendors, it's easily felt like 5 years stuffed into one. Sean and I (and pretty much the entire world) are so grateful it wasn't a carbon copy of 2020. But it did come with its own unique set of challenges.

As much as I'm not too sad to see 2021 go, we've learned some important lessons the right people will always find you and there is nothing—absolutely nothing more hilarious and good for the pet-lovers soul than a pup cam. And we couldn't be more thrilled to be able to provide that to our couples who want to include their furry kids in their big day.

Here's to all the best things in 2022!

Much love,
Cindy & Sean

I’ve spent this holiday break reflecting on the year gone by, and have been thinking about what goals and intentions I want to set for 2022. Because who doesn’t love an inspiring list of goals to start the New Year fresh, right?

Here are a few things I’m excited to focus on in 2022:

✨ Hone our skills by taking some courses over winter (higher, faster, farther baby!)
✨ Give our couples an even BETTER experience than in 2021 (more, more, more!)
✨ Finally find a jumpsuit I look remotely cute in (how do photographers do it?)
✨ Show up more on social media (hello, Reels... even if it's not perfect... starting now)

Who’s ready to make 2022 our best year yet? 💥

Today a Facebook memory popped up that was all spicy. 🌶

Five years ago I was at my wit's end. I wasn't working full time with Sean filming weddings at that point but rather I found myself at, what turn out to be, the beginning of the end of my graphic design business. Every day felt like a punch to the face. 🥴🥊

My mom had just passed away, we had a critically ill cat, and it was a couple of days until I had to jet off to Miami for a summit. Life was at a clear tipping point.

I wrote that I wanted a job that I didn't hate, to create work that was inspiring and touched others. I wanted a stress-free life. I challenged others to tell me what they were striving for that year, too.

During our last wedding this year our bride said to me, "You must have the best job in the world."

And I am so happy I get to respond, "Yeah, we do."

It might not be stress-free (it's actually pretty stressful) but it's full of love, meaning, and we get to work with wonderful, inspiring people every day. People who want us to film their wedding because having us film it for them MEANS something to them. Having us present makes them feel good, happy, and calm. It's not about getting a job done or having someone there who's cognizant enough to hold a camera upright—it's about being there for people. Sean and I are invested in our couples' day, every day. And it's an absolute dream come true to have our clients being invested in us, too.

Life is too short. Love what you do.

Drop a comment below and tell me what your goals are for 2022, that you made a crazy awesome goal, or that you love what you do! 🥳

I mean…. I don't want to say that it's a fact that my co-worker is the best in the world but... just look at this guy!

Sean is an incredible storyteller, a steller editor, and he does dishes (and likes doing them). He's also the best husband anyone could ever ask for. Thanks for letting me brag on Sean for a minute.

Introverted, quiet, steady, with one of the most patient and calming presences I've ever witnessed, and ALWAYS finding a way to post videos of me dancing like a crazy fool—sometimes I feel like his natural behind-the-scenes-personality-type gets overshadowed by my big voice and personality in the client-facing role I have.

Sean is a vital part of Harborview (I mean, he IS the founder, after all) and it wouldn't be Harboview without him. I want to make sure he gets credit where credit is due.

Let's give Sean a little love in the comments, eh? 😉

Words like these ones from Alli & Harry never fail to put a smile on our faces, and I always revisit them—especially at the end of a long season. You all are really the reason Sean and I do what we do!

"We just watched our film and we just wanted to say thank you(!!) for being our absolute favorite vendor. You have such an organized approach to your pre-wedding process.

You really took the time to get to know us and what we wanted to highlight. And on the wedding day, you truly captured all the important moments seamlessly (I didn’t even notice you guys in most of those moments!).

I will be sure to recommend you to any friends and family getting married on the cape. They would be lucky to have you and Sean capturing the biggest day of their lives."

08/12/2021

New month, new mantra! For December, the words we're living by are "Let it Be Easy." I totally co-opted this phrase from .moore (it's the title to her new book which is a lovely read) after hearing her on 's podcast (which I listen to while cleaning the horse barn—a weirdly inspiring duty for anything business-related, it's like washing dishes... but messier).

I like it better than "make it easy" (because my crazy Virgo brain is too much and will make that some kind of a challenge). Or "take it easy" which somehow feels like a copout (or like your mom is trying to break up a fight between you and your sister when you were kids).

It's the words "Let it be" that gives you permission to let go. (Also makes you start singing the Beatles song which is pretty awesome.)

"Let it be easy" is the perfect answer to anything I could possibly be overthinking.

I should have started dinner 30 minutes ago. Should I hoist myself away from this project and start making something adult, or should I have cereal for dinner? Adult dinner is what adults would do. I should definitely do that. "Let it be easy, Cindy." Cereal it is!

Should I overthink this social media post and craft the perfect 30 hashtags for maximum reach, it'll probably get pushed for another week or so until I have everything just right—or should I just make sure I get something up so it doesn't look like we haven't died? "Let it be easy." Excellent! Imperfect post so it signals we're alive and well!

Honestly, I think it's the perfect phrase for the holidays, too. We're all human. We all need to stop trying to be so PERFECT all the damn time. It's exhausting. Buying the perfect gifts, crafting the perfect beverages, making the perfect meals, frosting the perfect cookies. Unless you just totally love doing that—let it be EASY. Have fun, let go, enjoy whatever TIME has to give you.

How about you? What are the words you're living by this final month of 2020?

06/12/2021

What does a videographer do? I mean besides actual filming of your day. Because if it was only about taking out a camera, pointing and hitting record—you'd just have anyone with a camera do it.

What makes a PROFESSIONAL special? What's that X factor that's important?

At Harborview Studios, Sean's and my job is as wedding videographers are to help people who struggle to be themselves and open up in front of the camera so that they get a film that feels like them on a day that has a surprising amount of pressure to be EVERYTHING.

Our job is to help my couples believe that they're GORGEOUS, SEXY, FUNNY, AND INVINCIBLE well before coming anywhere near to our cameras (and especially while in front of our cameras) even if they HATE the idea of getting in front of a camera so much that makes their skin crawl.

Our job is not only to get them past that but to get them to genuinely have a BLAST while doing it—to actually LOOK FORWARD to being filmed by us.

Our job is to help our couples have fun and relax while knowing that we have ALL their memories recorded and safe. They don't have to worry about anything. We're there, and we've got it all of it.

My job is to get some of the funniest footage of their pets while they're all getting ready together because their pets mean THE WORLD to them.

And because we specialize in a very specific location ( ), our job is to represent that location in a way that no one else can. This place is a second home to them. It's a part of their history, a part of their heart… and we know exactly what that feels like.

Our job is to make sure that my couples have a film that their future generations will cherish because it tells them so much about their parents (eventually their grandparents and great grandparents, etc.). And that kind of thing is priceless.

If we do our job right, our films live on for 50 years or more, touching countless lives in the process.

That's what we do. And on top of all that—we film some gorgeous events and tell touching stories.

(Photo by the incredibly talented )😍

01/12/2021

One of the things we love about our couples is that they often have roots on Cape Cod. Alex's family has been getting married in the Old Whaling Church followed by a reception at for what seems like ages. That's a lot of family tradition—so there was so question whatsoever as to where they would be holding their celebration.

And what a celebration! To counter the more traditional aspects of the day, Martina made sure she added her bohemian spin—ensuring to put her personal stamp on the day. She wanted a minimalist style with arrangements of wildflowers and lots and lots of candles for romance and ambiance. Each bridesmaid was encouraged to pick the untraditional dress of their choice.

The most important part of the day was finally—FINALLY—getting a chance to connect and celebrate (in person) with close family and friends.

And we would be remiss if we didn't mention miss Molly, Martina's Australian Shepard who was the real star of the day. Every special moment of Martina's and Alex's lives has Molly at its center so it was imperative that she be a part of their big day all day and all night.

Congratulations Alex & Martina! We are SO happy to have had the opportunity and honor to film your wedding and be a part of capturing your memories.

Uplifting and Vibrant Wedding Films

Champion animal-rescuers, foodies (with an embarrassing obsession with wedding cake), movie nerds (with a borderline embarrassing obsession with MARVEL), students of literature, supporters of small, local business & farms, and comfy pants warriors.

We love the sweet, frenetic energy of the wedding season but we're absolutely ecstatic when we get to be sacked out at home on the couch with the bebies. Sean's the epitome of calm and reason and I have a humorous lack of filter (thanks mom—love you).

Most of our couples have destination weddings on Cape Cod but we happily travel worldwide. We love to talk about weddings, so give us a shout. (Or an email if you’re on the “I hate phone calls” side of life.)
