The Chinese idiom 年年有余 ‘Nian Nian You Yu’ is an auspicious saying that wishes you an abundance/surplus year after year. The last character Yu sounds similar to the character 鱼 which means fish.

This is why 'fish' is an integral part of CNY celebrations. We've given this tradition an Indah twist by using salmon - baked ang mo style but garnished Sarawak style, and not forgetting a spicy sidekick to cecah your ikan 🤩
