We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our friend, photographer Ema Discordant, who emerged as a defining visual voice of the city’s underground club culture in the 2010s. Ema’s raw intimacy and candid realism captured the fleeting, melancholic beauty of Berlin’s nightlife. Ema’s photos chronicled the hedonistic yet tender moments at iconic parties like Hokopatik and Buttons. His images, often drenched in the natural light that snuck into the club during dawn, resulting in a signature contrast style, evoked the transient nature of these nights, where euphoria intertwined with a subtle longing.
