An immersive theatrical experience created by Canadian dance legend Bill Coleman and Dutch mutimedia artist Edwin Van der Heide – and introducing the mysterious 3-Legged Man!
“I travelled the world in search of his lost past,” reflects Coleman on the extra-limbed subject of his new show. “But it was he who taught us a truth – a truth so simple most of us will only glimpse it.” In the end, his third leg is the least remarkable part of him …
Bill Coleman has delighted audiences of all kinds for over 40 years, both nationally and internationally. Returning to his first love, he’s been tap-dancing again – not just rhythms, but sound scores and special effects, on railroad tracks and sheet metal, down urban streets, and on stages with sound artists, neuroscientists, and Aboriginal storytellers.
Edwin van der Heide is an artist, composer and researcher who creates installations, performances, and environments. The audience is often located in the middle of the work and challenged to actively explore and interact with it – taking musical language into new dimensions.

From our skilled and competent tech team, to the supportive box office staff, lovely front of house staff, and diligent cleaners, to our always growing team of volunteers, the show would not go on without you all!
We also wanted to thank all of you, our patrons who attended shows this year! From January to December of this year we saw over 40,000 patrons in and out of our building! From touching musicals, to classical symphonies, rock bands, drag shows, dance competitions, intimate studio shows and everything in between, this year was full of energy, passion, and unforgettable moments, all made possible by the dedication of our exceptional team and the vibrant spirit of you, our incredible patrons.
As we reflect on the array of performances that graced our stage, we are immensely grateful for the collective effort that fuels Showplace's success.
