💰In a former life this was my job! 🎥
Honestly never thought I'd be a Grip, Gaffer type of guy but after doing a dozen projects as a Dolly Grip and Key Grip or Gaffer for smaller projects it really grew on me! 💪

Grip was the balance I needed! Always working on Art Department or PA work in my past, with many minor roles in between, I didn't have an expansive knowledge of some of these set elements. 🎥

Art and Grips are the opposite sides of the same coin! 💰They sharpen each others edge.
Both jobs are focussed on create the environments mood and adding to the scene and characters emotion in that moment.
Grips and Gaffers do this through the lighting. 💡
The shadows and all the elements of light to give the character more depth of emotion. Bright and airy or dark and dungeony. 🔦
Art does this with the looks of the environment. 🎈
An office, a family home can be changed through a simple addition.
We could add to the character by putting a picture frame on the desk, or a gun in the drawer!

Everything means something and it all builds the scene or develops the character. These departments work together to fill spaces and hide reveals for each other.

There are no insignificant jobs on a film set. Everyone and everything matters! 🎥

I’ve never done this before. I’ve never made an Instagram collage and I think it’s pretty sweet! 📸✨ I had the honour of shooting some photos for the Myer Spring League with Coach Nathan Greene and my nephew, who plays on the team. Watching the game from behind the lens always gives me a whole new appreciation for the sport. The intensity, the camaraderie, and the sheer determination of every player on the field were incredible to capture.

It was a tough game, full of action and emotion, and a lot of fun. The storm on the horizon made everything that much more intense, adding a dramatic backdrop to the already high-energy match. You could feel the tension in the air, both from the players and the weather. 🌩️🏈

Seeing my nephew out there giving his all, and being able to capture those moments, was truly special. It’s these kinds of experiences that remind me why I love photography. Whether it’s a wedding, a sports event, or just a beautiful sunset, there’s something magical about freezing a moment in time and preserving it forever.

Throw Back to that time I did that thing!
But seriously tho this was an unbelievable experience!
Looking back I become more and more greatful for the experience and opportunities this gave me. 🙏🙌

As with all things there are moments and people you look back on and think "How did that happen?" Or "I wish I did that differently!" But we learn from our growth! Negative or positive we use it to become better in one way or another!

The Pandemic really took a lot of opportunities I thought were going to make "My Career take off" but as the saying goes, God laughed at that plan. 😂

The last 4 years have been very daunting, frustrating and incredibly disappointing. To be honest.
But there is only one thing I want to do! And the more rejected and ignored I feel in this business it just fuels the passion. 🔥

Rebuilding my passion and undying want is all I have done this year.
Grow grow grow. Everyone is on a different step, this step for me, is called: Forming the Foundation.

It was a really spicy day outside but that didn't stop us!
This family shoot was a really fun and fulfilling photoshoot. 🌶️
We braved the insanely hot weekend and wiped our brows of sweat and put on our best smiles! ☺️

I have been creating for 15 years! Woah!
There has been nothing else that I have thought about doing with my life. Maybe at the beginning but now I don't see myself doing anything but.

Lately its seems to be harder and harder to get a foot hold into success.
With AI and cheaper and cheaper equipment. Anyone can create anything with a whole world of options for people to get great photos and video cheap and efficient!

So why would you pay someone like me to do the job for you?

Creating a visual media is so much more than “Capturing the moment” or “making someone or thing look good” no this is about feeling and story!

How does the image make you feel?
Advertisement wants you to feel wanting or curiosity towards a product, a family wants you to feel home and the love like one of their own family.
Visuals are about the story the feelings give you.
They paint images in your head thad add so much more to the single image you see in a frame or display.

That is my new focus. Everything that we create will be focussed on story and feeling like youre apart of it.
And this is why hiring a creative with experience is so important!
They build a world though your heart and their eyes! ♥️👀🎥

Zack Esau Media is currently undergoing an update of services, products and all media availability.

With the quickly changing world around photo and video we have taken a step back to reset and find out what direction we will focus on.
Here’s a few little teasers on some of these changes to come…

Weddings used to be a very large part of our services and freelance. Moving forward, we will be offering only small packages for up to 4 Hours for photo or video.

Sports and extreme activities have been a passion for Zack since he was a small kid. We are so excited to announce will be offering more sports and activities packages going forward!

Modelling photography and high end portraits will always be here for those that need!
Collaborations and experimental projects that will make this account more flashy and entertaining are on the up and coming!

Finally, we will be focussing mainly on Film. Yes, pboto and video will be an offer for events, advertising and videography. However, Zack Esau Media will be putting more of an emphasis on short films, music videos and other high end productions.

For most of my followers that know me personally, you know that I’ve spent my entire career working diligently and passionately for my love of film and video, which is why I want to produce, create and direct more projects going forward.

It reminds me a lot about film and video production.
Coaching is like producing.
