As the year comes to an end, it's a moment for introspection, focusing on the most impactful albums that have bent my ears during 2023. Unsurprisingly, the music of Colombia has resonated deeply with me again this year! Following my exposure to Bogotá's vibrant independent music scene earlier in March, these four albums, all pressed on vinyl this year, have left a lasting impression. Much of this music has already successfully toured Europe, and I eagerly anticipate the next set of projects from this expanding circle of talented musicians. A special acknowledgment therefore goes to the stable, led by the extraordinary who has played a significant role in each of these albums coming to fruition. Sending much love to from this crazy fanatical Brit often found stalking your shows on both sides of the Atlantic! 🇨🇴🇬🇧🫶

It’s with great sadness we hear MyhouseYourhouse Radio will be going permanently off air in the New Year. Has been an epic 19 year ride and I have been proud to be part of it for the last couple of years alongside my fellow Rotations amigos. Some great connections and friendships built up which will last a lifetime. Here’s to the past, present and future! 👌🏻

I have now had Long COVID for 12 months.

‘Well he doesn’t look ill’ that’s because most of the symptoms are ‘invisible’.

I have had most of the below symptoms over this period and still struggle with some of them on daily basis.

But there is hope and every day, I remind myself

• I am alive
• I accept where I am on this journey
• I am getting better, slowly
• I will continue to improve, slowly
• I am getting better at pacing myself
• I have still been able to enjoy life in many ways this past year
• I no longer grieve about the life I used to have
• I accept that there will be setbacks along the way, the condition will continue to relapse and remit
• I will always put myself forward to trial new treatments and programmes, even if they don’t benefit me, my participation could help others
• I hope one day I can say ‘I am clear of Long COVID’ but until there are approved treatments to help with this, I accept I could be in for a very long wait

2023! The purpleness of the WOH festival guide reminded me of the programme from my first ever festival 30 years ago - 1993. Back then, the kind of music and artists you have come to expect at WOH were compressed into a specialist ‘Jazzterrania Tent’ whilst all sorts of Rock & Indie music dominated the main stages. To now have an entire multi-stage festival across 4 days devoted to Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop etc. would have been unimaginable back then. All the more reason to celebrate this weekend - let’s goooo! 🫶
