I overheard the gorgeous bride last night tell a friend that she had originally seen our flipbook at her prom. Being in business for 18 years sure does bring some sweet stories about how people find out about us. 💕

Last night was definitely a celebration to remember. Brittani and Hunter were surrounded by a room full of people who loved them and supported this marriage. Emerald City Band kept the dance floor packed, with guests taking breaks to get a drink and come make flipbooks.

At the end of the evening, I looked at the very front of the dance floor and saw the bride’s dad. Everyone around him was jumping around and dancing to the music, but he stood still and slowly turned around in a full circle. It was like a movie when the world is in full motion, but the character spins around in slow motion. You could tell that he was simply trying to absorb the momentous occasion and try to capture this moment in time into his memory. The band pumping energy into the crowd, his daughter and her new husband dancing beside him, being surrounded by the people who were most important to him in this world. ❤️

And I got choked up if I’m being honest. Not enough people stop and take a moment to look around in the middle of a wedding. It all goes by so quickly. From a parent’s perspective, this is the end of raising a child and the beginning of a new family. It’s a celebration with your tribe, the people who have been with you through thick and thin. What a beautiful moment in time to savor! I’m so glad I caught a glimpse of it.

I’ll admit. I’m not super great about posting on social media. 🙃 But I just had to show you pictures from a very sweet wedding we were recently a part of. Carie and Jeremy found us at the Dallas Bridal Show and made such a sweet flipbook! It’s hard to describe, but they just radiated fun and you could tell they were in love. I was secretly crossing my fingers that they would book us. I wanted to be a part of their special day!

Sure enough, I had an email waiting for me on Monday morning. Carie was a dream to work with. She sent us her invitation and we were able to make the flipbook cover match the wedding perfectly!

Allie and I smiled the entire event. 🩷 Carie and Jeremy‘s guests loved the flipbook as much as they did! What was really sweet for us is that multiple times throughout the evening, guests would swing by and talk to us and compliment us and sincerely tell us how much they were thankful that we were there. Comments included that they had never seen this before, but absolutely loved it; that they were fascinated at how quickly we could make the books from start to finish; and that it was such a great idea.

Our hearts were full as we drove away. Thank you, Carie and Jeremy, for letting us be a part of your memorable wedding! 😍

Love is in the air as brides plan out the details of their wedding. At a recent wedding, I was blown away by the details that Linh-Hoa chose to celebrate this sweet union and we were honored to be included. 🩷

“We LOVE working with PicFlips! Shawn and Amy are phenomenal! We worked with them over several months to ensure that the flipbooks were ready for our wedding.

As a designer, I was so glad they allowed me to design the front cover, back cover, and spine of the flipbooks. (If needed, they have a designer they can connect you with to make the design 🙂 ). They're super quick to communicate and give great advice to get your flipbook looking just right! They also did a test print for me to see how the covers would look!

On the day of the wedding, they came early to set up and they were a HUGE hit amongst our 120 guests. So many of our guests got a keepsake from our wedding because of how fast they could print out the copies! In addition, we selected the USB with all of the videos as a keepsake. We love watching the 7-second videos of our guests dancing away while wearing PicFlips' feather boas, signs, sunglasses, hats, etc.

It's been over a week since our wedding, and our guests are still talking about the flipbooks! (Some of them literally flip it for us to show it off again 🙂 ). Hands down -- PicFlips is the vendor you want at your event! You won't regret it!!”

Lupe is one of my favorite directors. 😍 Just look at their interaction with Lupe and their reaction to the flipbook video they just made. I’ve watched this video multiple times this weekend and it just makes me so happy. ❤️ It is so hard to find incredible staff right now, but we pride ourselves in finding the cream of the crop.

Whew!! What a crazy, fabulous prom weekend! We don't have the final tally yet, but we had the capacity to make 1900 flipbooks this past Saturday within a 6 hour period. 😅 Unfortunately, we were so slammed we didn't have time to snap many photos.

We are sooo grateful to our school clients who trust us to capture these sweet prom memories for their students in our flipbook photo studio. With so many digital options these days, it's fun to hold a pocket-sized book with 60 images inside and feel the pages flip with your thumb to reveal your own mini movie.

Four more PACKED weekends of proms and weddings await, then we head into graduation parties. Bring it on!!

We had 2 FULL weekends of Daddy Daughter Dances and Valentine's-themed events. Whew! My heart smiles at all of the memories we captured and all of the flipbooks that will be flipped in years to come as these kiddos grow up.

Being in the service industry, I know that the focus is always on guests. That's why the Ga***rd Texan hotel is so amazing! On Valentine's Day each year, they show their employees that they are loved by having a chef-chosen menu, playing games like bingo with prizes, and having music and a PicFlips - I Love Flipbooks studio available for everyone to make and take home a flipbook during their lunch break. Lots of belly laughs and smiles as employees walked away back to their shift.

How is this for a cool flipbook booth setup?! This is at Fogo de Chao in Plano. Instead of our typical table setup, we used their gorgeous wooden 3" thick table made from one piece of wood (two of them placed together are pictured here). We loved everything about this party! The atmosphere and decor, the guests at the corporate party, and the food and drinks for the party couldn't be topped. We brought lots of laughs and the personalized party favor to take home. What a great night!

Have you ever seen a magician seamlessly make a specific card appear in a place you never expected it to show up? Good magicians {and event professionals like us!} spend countless hours behind the scenes learning their trade.

The 'I Love Flipbooks' team makes creating a flipbook from start-to-finish look effortless, but I promise, a lot of hours go into training! Our teams learn to set the lighting and color for each venue we go to; to cut the pages smoothly; and to staple the books so that it forms a nice right angle. We only hire outgoing, friendly and creative staff - the kind we would want to hang out with after work. Props are chosen specifically to match the colors or theme of the party.

Making flipbooks at events is not something you learn to do overnight. There are soooo many details involved! PicFlips - I Love Flipbooks has developed a proven system for 16 years.

We love the reactions we get from guests and clients! It never ceases to put a smile on our face when someone sees their flipbook for the first time. Hope to see YOU at an event soon!

We were at two different gorgeous weddings this Saturday. One had about 50 guests and the other had about 450 guests, and the flipbooks were a blast at both of them. 🥰 We were so honored to be included in their celebrations! What beautiful couples!

As a guest was flipping through the finished flipbooks in the bowl at my event, she commented, "Wow, these flipbooks are oddly satisfying..." Haha! That's the best description ever! 🤣

We're coming up on our 16th year of making flipbooks at parties and events!! Can you believe it?! I can't describe the amount of JOY it has brought into our lives. As with any exciting adventure, there have been some extreme highs and some devastating lows.

But what I'm going to focus on now is the very beginning in 2006. We're going to look back at those sweet, naïve kids who knew that with sacrifice and hard work, they could turn this fun idea into a thriving business to support their family and provide jobs to their community.

Since we were launching a brand new concept, we had no competitors to learn from. We needed to do some market research to see what people's responses were, how much they would be willing to pay, what we could do to improve, etc. So we decided to load up and go to a festival. Which one could we afford? Rabbit Fest, of course! 😂 What?! You've never heard of it? Yeah, I don't know how we even found it. It was outside of Fort Hood so we got a lot of military families. We practiced and fine-tuned our pitch. Thankfully, God had prepared me for this. My previous job had been hawking credit cards at events, so a "no" didn't even phase me. 🤣 We got the cheapest hotel we could find and laughed and laughed when we found a hole in the sandpaper hand towel. We smiled and said, "Take a picture! We can only go UP from here!" 😅 And up we went.

We got a patent issued, we made flipbooks at SXSW for a Snoop Dogg concert when I was pregnant with Mia (don't worry, I didn't inhale...), we made flipbooks at the major auto shows all around the country for General Motors including Switzerland, we were at celebrity parties and weddings, written up in magazines and newspapers... It's been a fun ride and we're STILL working many of the events ourselves because it's such a joy to hear and see people experience being in their own flipbook to take home. After 16 years, we hear at almost every event, "This is amazing! It's so fast! I've never seen this before." And it makes me smile. Even through a year of the pandemic with no events, I Love Flipbooks lives on. ❤️

But we never forget where we came from. At that Rabbit Fest, a young mom and her small kids in their double stroller came by. She pushed the stroller behind the camera and all three adults waved and smiled and called out instructions. The 3 year old daughter danced and gave a big smile then reached over and kissed the baby's head. He was just learning to sit up. It was the sweetest flipbook. As she was leaving, the mom told us, "I'm sending this to my husband overseas. He hasn't met the youngest one in person yet." And my heart burst. I like to think that they still have that flipbook and it's edges are probably worn. That wobbly baby is probably learning to drive. It is stories like that that we've picked up through the years that kept us going through the hard times. I'm so thankful God entrusted us with this business. 💖

Oh, how we love making flipbooks during the Christmas season! The laughter and joy at parties just lifts our spirits! It's been a busy week and we have one to two more weeks of holiday parties before everything winds down for Christmas itself. We seriously have the BEST clients and we just LOVE to add the extra magic that a flipbook studio brings to a party!

Whew! What a whirlwind!! From hardly anything on the calendar for this spring to fully booked dates in a matter of 1-2 weeks once Abbott lifted the mask mandate, this was a buuuuusy April and May! It felt so great to be making flipbooks again and seeing the Seniors enjoy their sweet celebration! The school sponsors work so very hard behind the scenes with us and they deserve a round of applause. 👏🏼 We still have a couple of Senior breakfasts and proms on the books.

Now we’re into the next round of private Graduation parties. Lindsay’s Graduation Party from last weekend was absolutely perfect. Food, friends, family, flipbooks...it was all there! Congratulations, Lindsay!!

And so it begins. 🥰 Prom season is HERE! Thank You, God!! 🙌🏼 It is balm to my soul to be back making flipbooks for Juniors and Seniors and being a part of their memories as they complete their high school years. I would like to add that Harvest Christian Academy has the MOST AMAZING students and administration/teachers/parents! I hope my kids grow up to be as down-to-earth, grateful and creative as these students. ❤️
