I happily live in Hawley, MN with the love of my life Kyle, our beautiful son Aiden and the cutest, fluffiest, hypo-allergenic cat Blayze. As much for myself as for the people I am shooting for. I will be the first to admit that I have broken down crying during a father/daughter dance, where I knew that her dad was terminally ill and I could be capturing the last time they ever share a dance toget

her. I have burst out laughing during a ceremony, when the bride started making one funny face after another to her groom, as the ninety year old paster gave a monotone sermon for ten minutes. I love how capturing the best moments of other people's lives, makes me want to do more, be a better person, try harder, and love always. This isn't my hobby, this is my passion, my love, and I can honestly say, I don't want to do or be anything else. I want to share that love and grow in myself and my business with all of you. I want to make a difference, even in just one person's life, and as the children's story goes "I think I can." If you want someone fun and friendly, someone that will give you that precious moment all over again; someone that not only captures your favorite scenes, but truly lives in that moment with you... then I'm your girl. I have availability for a 6:45pm mini spring session tomorrow evening (Monday, May 13th) in Moorhead if anyone is interested! $200 for a 20 minute session. Online gallery with 15 edited images with the option to add more and print release. I'll add more times, if there's more people interested.

People always ask what style I shoot.. Light and Airy? Dark and moody? High contrast? None of the above.
Every shoot/wedding is different. Different seasons, different locations, different weather, different lighting. I adapt to my surroundings and try to make them look as real as they did on scene. If I identified with anything... it'd be color. I LOVE color. I drop my highlights a tish, bump my shadows, add very little contrast, but accentuate my colors.
I'm the girl that you see at the gym in every neon color you can think of, just because it makes me happy. If you want bright, colorful, true to life images that exude love and joy, I'm your girl.

Alright! After a month of back to back illnesses, I finally feel like I can catch up. Look out for several previews in the next week! First up the absolutely stunning Shelby and Jeremy! After a year of planning a venue wedding in Bemidji, they decided mere months prior to replan the entire wedding at Shelby's parent's gorgeous country home and it could not have been more perfect.

After almost 12 years together and over 2 years of wedding planning due to all things 2020, Alex and Dalton finally tied the knot on Saturday. We had so much fun capturing this beautiful couple's wedding day. Full preview to come.

Who I am

My Name is Sam Bacon. I'm 30 years old. I live in Hawley, MN with my boyfriend of a bazillion years with our first baby on the way, and the best cat in the world. I've been doing photography for 11 years and have worked in 3 different studios over a 6 year span, finally going out on my own 6 years ago. I am not into photography because I just like taking pretty pictures. I do photography for the moments remembered and cherished over generations, through the images that I have captured. As much for myself as for the people I am photographing for. I will be the first to admit that I have broken down crying during a father/daughter dance, when we all knew that her dad was terminally ill and I could be capturing the last time they ever shared a dance together. Six months later, that bride contacted me to let me know that her father had passed and thanked me for the wonderful memories I had created for her. That truly meant the world to me. I have also laughed during a ceremony, when the bride started making one funny face after another to her groom, as the ninety year old pastor gave a monotone sermon for ten minutes without once glancing up. I love how capturing the best moments of a person’s life, makes me cherish every moment with my loved ones even more. I rarely ever stop smiling while shooting a wedding or family session and again while going back through and editing them. This isn't my hobby, this is my passion, my love, and I promise to give you everything I can if you entrust me to capture your special moments.
