I'm incredibly humbled to be listed as one of the Top 20 wedding videographers in the US. When I set out to film weddings almost 6 years ago, never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined being included among some of the most talented filmmakers in the country. This road hasn't been easy but it has been so worthwhile to serve the most incredible couples, without whom I wouldn't be here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to tell your story and capture one of the most important days of your life. It is the most incredible honor. I cannot wait to see what the future holds and what other amazing stories await that have yet to be told. This is an absolute dream and I feel so blessed.

Today I need to share some honesty from the heart that I would love for you to take the time to read.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve experienced some of the biggest and life-changing growth that has happened for Blue Pine Films as well as for me personally. Over the last 12 months, I have filmed the most weddings since starting my business, moved out of my childhood home across the state in the middle of wedding season, traveled over 7,000 miles in 2 ½ months and underwent an intensive educational program for the entire year. It’s been an emotional, draining, rewarding and beautiful year all wrapped up into one.

I feel so incredibly blessed to be where I am and it feels like a dream to do what I do. Creating something so personal and meaningful for couples that will last a lifetime is an incredible honor, but it is also really personal to me and close to my heart as well. I pour my heart and soul into these films and my couples, working really late nights and hardly ever getting any time for myself and my loved ones. I am so dedicated to my couples, their films and becoming the best filmmaker I can be that at times I have sacrificed a lot, many important things that people never see.

With all that being said, I need to take a little step back from work to refresh and replenish. I haven’t taken more than a couple of days off since I began Blue Pine back in 2018 and if I am being fully transparent, it is beginning to really wear on me. Not because I don’t love what I do, but because everyone needs to step away for a little while. I need to step away so that I can be at 100% for all of my couples going forward. So I will be taking a brief hiatus from Blue Pine for the next 2 weeks or so. I want to be able to fully devote myself to my craft and to serving my couples and I need to have a full tank to serve you best.

Me: “I can’t eat another bite!” Also me: “Did someone say pie?” 🥧

Please tell me I’m not the only one? As Joey, the king of food and Thanksgiving once said, “You don’t put words in people’s mouths, you put turkey in people’s mouths!”

I wish you all the most wonderful of Thanksgivings! I feel so blessed for so many reasons. I'm so lucky to be living this amazing, crazy, at times messy but wonderful life! And I'm so thankful for such a supportive community. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement as I pursue this amazing career of my dreams. I couldn't do this without you! 💙

What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions? Are you staying at home enjoying a wonderful meal with friends before watching some football? Are you traveling and enjoying a much needed vacation or are you preparing for a Black Friday shopping spree? I’d love to know in the comments below!

As for me, I’m the former! Give me some food, family and football with a healthy dose of gratitude and you’ve got the perfect Thanksgiving recipe for me! =) Oh and watching a FRIENDS Thanksgiving episode of course! 🤗

May your hearts be as full as your plates today!

It’s your wedding day. SOAK. IT. ALL. IN!

The day goes by so fast. Most people have a hard time remembering much from the day (which is why hiring a videographer is so important!) Most couples schedule so many activities in such a short timeline that the day goes by in the blink of an eye and they can’t enjoy all the hard work they put in and waited for. Here are a few tips for how you can not feel so rushed and overwhelmed on your wedding day.

1. You don’t have to do all the “wedding activities” if you don’t want to. Yes, I said it. Sometimes less is more. Be intentional with the things that matter most to you, maybe get creative, and make sure you have some moments to breathe and take it all in!

2. Give some extra padding to your timeline before the ceremony and afterwards in case things run a little behind (which they almost always do for one reason or another). It will relieve so much stress and give you some time to breathe. On top of that, it helps your videographer by allowing us adequate time to properly set up for your ceremony.

3. Make sure to have enough moments with just you and your significant other. This day is about you and your love, so make sure you schedule some time away from your guests so that you can enjoy one of the best days of your lives! I recommend a private letter reading, a first look/first touch, a moment alone right after the ceremony, or a portrait session! Those are all great options and are precious moments to look back on in your photos and video.

4. Don’t rush spending time with your loved ones. These people are some of the most important, special people in your lives. They are here to support you and celebrate with you. Many people regret not taking the time to just be present with their loved ones.

What tips are your favorites? For all my married people and past couples, what are some of the best tips you’ve received? 🙌

Wow what a crazy few weeks this has been!

From moving across the state and now starting to film weddings again, it’s been quite the ride. I appreciate all of your patience during this time. I am so excited for all that is to come and I cannot wait to show you all the new things that this move will bring to Blue Pine!

How are all of you doing? Over half the year has passed (what the heck, when did that happen?) Whether you have already gotten married this year, are still planning your wedding, just got engaged or are a wedding vendor in the heat of wedding season, I’d love to hear how you are genuinely doing. I’m all about authenticity and I would love to cheer you on or give you a dose of encouragement if you need it!

Also, if anyone is on the fence of doing a sunset boat ride on your wedding day, DO IT!!! I’ll bring my drone!

🚨 I HAVE A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨

Ok, I have been teasing this for a while and now that everything is finalized, I can officially share the news…

In less than 2 weeks, I am moving to Eastern Oregon! 💙

I am incredibly excited for this new chapter in my life and the opportunity it will bring. While it will be bittersweet to leave the Valley, the only place I have ever called home, I am excited for the new doors God will open. I have been keeping this news to myself and close friends until everything was finalized (which we had some delays, causing the announcement to be pushed back). But now I can shout it from the rooftops and let the whole Blue Pine Fam know!

To all my couples and vendor friends I have in the Valley, don’t worry, I’ll be back for weddings this year and I do have plenty of family and friends to come and visit. You can’t get rid of me that easily! I also have some more exciting news as to the growth and direction of my business that I cannot wait to share once I am moved and settled. (One thing at a time, right? lol)

With that being said, moving an entire farm 6 ½ hours away is not an easy or quick feat. If I am being honest, it is down right exhausting. So I will be taking the next two weeks off to make the official move before weddings start again for me in mid August. I will try to respond to comments and messages as soon as I am able. If you are waiting on teasers, don’t worry, they are coming! As you can imagine, life has been a wee bit crazy and will be for several weeks… I appreciate your patience!

I am excited to start serving more directly the Central Oregon, Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho wedding communities! If you are in those areas, I would love to connect! I have tons of availability for 2022 weddings (that I am soon to officially open the books for) and would love to serve you and your couples!

Cheers to this new great adventure and I will try to bring you along as much as I can! 💙

Oh… and the home we are moving to has blue pine wood all throughout as trim and shiplap… in the words of the immortal Janice, “talk about meant to be!”

Hi there lovely people! I see that there are a lot of new faces here and I wanted to hop on and share some fun facts about yours truly so you can get to know me a little better. 💙

Ok here we go!

First and foremost, Jesus is my rock, my best friend and my Savior. I try to glorify Him in all that I do, though I am far from perfect.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media from Oregon State University. Go Beavers!

I am blind in one eye (and I promise that I will share unsolicited blind/eye jokes at random and I also welcome others sharing some too!)

As per the above fact, I have a grand sense of humor. I consider myself the female Ms. Chanander B**g, if you will. (Bonus points to all that got that reference!)

I have 2 cats, Mila and Twitterbutt (yes, that is her name…)

I started making videos as a kid in the stereotypical way, taking my parent’s old VHS camcorder and making videos around our home and backyard. They should be Hollywood blockbusters! (JK… never, ever!)

I LOVE gummies and have a huge sweet tooth (sometimes to a fault).

I’m also a fantasy author and am striving to finish my debut novel (first of a trilogy) by the end of the year! Storytelling is kinda my jam!

What about you guys? What are some fun facts about you that not many people know? I would love to hear some! Or what are some of your favorite eye/blind jokes? I want to add to my repertoire!

Real talk guys: I have a confession… Warning this is going to get deep.

Sometimes it’s hard to be grateful. Sometimes it’s hard to see and focus on the blessings in our lives. It’s so easy to get in a rut of focusing on the hardships, the negativity, and feeling burdened and overwhelmed by life that we don’t feel grateful or allow ourselves to even go there.

Confession: This has been me.

I have recently hit what I like to call a “conviction wall” and literally it felt like running into a wall (but in a good way, if that makes any sense). To keep a long story short, I just came to the realization that I have been so consumed with the massive waves of things I feel like are consuming me that I forget to see and appreciate the blessings I have in my life. I forget that where I am now is an answered prayer that I had prayed for in the past. I heard on a podcast somewhere that we are never satisfied with the stage of life we are in because every stage has good and bad things. We long for the good things about the stage we aren’t in and at the same time we tend to focus only on the challenging things at our current stage. So we are trapped in a cycle of unhappiness and dissatisfaction. That hit me REALLY HARD! That’s no way to live our lives.

I want to challenge you.

Wherever you are in life, take a deep look and ask yourself honestly, “are you grateful for the blessings in your life?” If you are planning a wedding, it is super stressful and there is a lot that’s going on in your life during that season. Are you enjoying the blessings of the process? Are you enjoying being engaged instead of just waiting to be married? If you are married, are you enjoying the blessings of being married, something you’ve always longed for? Or are you just waiting for the “next best thing”?

Let’s all encourage one another and truly be grateful and enjoy the blessings we do have in our lives WHERE WE ARE AT RIGHT NOW. God answers prayers, but sometimes we are so focused on the hardships that we forget to rejoice in the fruit of those answered prayers or are blind to seeing them.

Let’s be grateful today!

Who we are is shaped by the people around us, the people who invested in us throughout our lives. These people matter and on your wedding day, you want to share those special moments with them. That’s why I love finding unique ways to incorporate those special people into your wedding film. Whether that is a first look with your grandparents, a letter reading with your beloved aunt or having your brother help you get into your suit, these people mean the world to you and should be immortalized in your wedding film. Life isn’t cookie cutter, nor should your wedding film. A deep, emotional and priceless wedding film comes from creating moments that are deep, emotional and priceless to you. It starts with making those moments happen with the people who matter most to you on one of the most important days of your life. That’s where the magic begins!

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

For me, it isn’t just one part. It’s all the little moments that are pure, raw and authentic. The smile that creeps on the bride’s face as she talks with her girls about her groom as she is getting ready. The flooding of emotion that comes over the groom as he sees his bride for the first time. The pure joy on the faces of all the couple’s family and closest friends. The fun and laughter during the reception.

Every wedding is different. So when someone asks me what my favorite part of a wedding day is, I tell them it depends on the wedding for my answer changes depending on each one. And I love that so much!

What about you? What are those favorite moments for you that either you had at your wedding or are looking forward to about your future one?

Wedding season is right around the corner! Can you believe it??

With our world being so crazy and unpredictable, I commend my couple’s resilience, courage and adaptability. Planning a wedding is not an easy feat, then throw in such unpredictable variables and it makes things even more challenging. I seriously have the most amazing couples and I am so grateful for you and excited to celebrate with you this summer/fall!

I have a few spots remaining for 2021 in August and October for those couple’s out there still in search of a wedding videographer. Think we are the perfect match and will make the most amazing dream team? Contact me soon as spots are filling up fast!

I have some planning sessions coming up, where the fun of beginning to bring your film to life starts! I am so excited to start getting a vision for each of my couples. I cannot express how much I love my job!

I've been on the road the last few weeks doing some amazing shoots and a wedding that I cannot wait to share with you! If you haven't seen the trailer for Rachel and Derek, you should check it out!

Also, if you've never visited the Painted Hills, put it on your bucket list! Like seriously... you need to! It is breath taking and borderline unreal. 💙 Have you ever been there? If not, when do you wanna go? This girl's ready to go back! 🙌

"It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen." ~ John Wooden

While the big, emotional moments of the wedding day are what we focus on the most, the little details are the glue that binds it all together. You put so much of your personality, taste and style into all the little things that may go unnoticed to some. I intentionally look for them and use those beautiful little details you invested so much in to help bring your story together. They really are so incredibly important.

On a side note, this last weekend was my first shoot of the year at the amazingly beautiful Smith Rock! 💙 Then this upcoming Saturday kicks off my first wedding of the year in Bend! Who's excited? This girl!!! 😍 Who's ready for wedding season???

Twas a blustery and rainy first Sunday of Daylight Savings! 🌧☔

Who all loves getting that extra hour of daylight but at the same time hates losing an hour of sleep? It's such a double edged sword for me.

Sorry for being a little MIA this past week. I've been working hard on some edits, studio renovations and other fun stuff! Plus allergies have just been kicking my butt lately. I absolutely love the trees blooming but my poor nose sure doesn't. 🤧 Who else feels me on this?

In the meantime, grab a nice hot cup of tea, a cozy (maybe even cuddled up with your person 🥰) and enjoy the rain and this dreamy shot! These two make the rain look super classy! Like the Notebook with an umbrella 💙

Why hello there! Thanks for stopping by.

Allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Lauren and I am an Oregon based wedding cinematographer.

The first thing I want you to know about me is I am your biggest fan and cheerleader. To me, it’s all about you and your story! To me, there’s nothing more beautiful than getting to witness the love, the joy, the silliness (yes please bring on the silliness!), and the raw emotion that two people share and experience with each other. As a storyteller, being able to capture and tell someone’s unique story is such an incredible honor and a privilege I take seriously.
