Special guest this week at Soul Feed Sundays is DJ-duo FOX & MINK!

One half of Fox & Mink is my long-time buddy Alex. We used to be resident deejays at Dulac in the Haarlemmerstraat - back in the days - before he co-founded The Daisy Age, a famous club concept that had its base mainly at De Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. Later, while working as a programmer, Alex has given me many chances to deejay in venues like Roest, Canvas and Doka.

I'm very excited to share the DJ-booth at Feed Amsterdam tomorrow with the regular Soul Feed deejays and with FOX & MINK. Will I see you there too?

We're excited that DJ-duo Fox & Mink will join us next week's Sunday, December 10th.

Fox & Mink have been putting Amsterdam's dance floors on fire for several years already with their blend of hiphop, streetsoul, house, disco and tropical delicacies. 

Along with the Soul Feed Sundays resident DJ's this one is going to be another scorcher.

This upcoming Sunday, record collector and deejay Florence 'Mambo Chick' from Annecy, France will be our guest at Soul Feed Sundays !

I've been grooving to Mentallogenic since it came out two weeks ago. The debut-LP of Alex Figueira holds a multitude of musical styles and showcases even more different talents of Alex. He plays every instrument on it, did the recording, production, mixing, mastering and artwork himself before putting it out on his own record label Music With Soul. The only other credit on the album goes to his daughter Lorraine, who took all the cool photos of Alex.
The record is a killer and there are only a few hundred pressed, so go get it while you can.

A bit of background on this one:
After being asked to deejay a 4 hour long set at SoccerRocker '22, a football tournament and music festival in Amsterdam, I thought about what I was going to play there.

When I listened to Alex Figueira's Jorge Ben Special on NTS Radio (check it out!), the song 'Cadê o Penalty' got me thinking: what if I play strictly football related songs?

So I started searching and especially looked out for songs that supporters sing their own lyrics to. For example the stadium chant 'One Dennis Bergkamp, there's only one Dennis Bergkamp' is sung to the melody of 'Guantanamera'. Then I tried to find cool versions of those songs and that's it basically.

Over drie weken is het zo ver.

Lekker voetballen of aanmoedigen, bier drinken, bandjes kijken, dansen, sjansen en sowieso heel veel lachen op het het altijd gezellige SOCCERROCKER!

's Ochtends draai ik de plaatjes aan mekaar tijdens het voetballen en dat wordt een speciale voetbalset!
