This postpartum journey has me really digging my heels into nourishing meals. It’s soo important to feed yourself well.
You want Whole Foods, fiber, protein and obviously good flavor.

Our Sweet Potato, Kale & Chickpea Coconut Curry soup checks allll those boxes!

This new chapter has inspired me to create a menu to offer postpartum mommas delicious & wholesome meals to help heal the body and nourish the soul. These would be ready-made meals that you can stock your freezer with, thaw and reheat when you are ready. Soups, Stews, Casserole’s, and other homey comforting meals, for you and the whole family to enjoy and help transition you through a whole new world.

I’ll be launching this offering soon, hopefully within the next month or so. 👀

Definitely looking forward to coming back and whipping up some delicious stuff. ✨

Hey folks!

Just wanted to hop on here for a bit to give y’all some updates. We are currently on baby watch, and expecting our lil guy to be joining us very VERY soon. ✨

With that said, we are taking a pause in orders, catering services and everything else for a bit while we prepare to welcome our baby and adjust to the new life of becoming parents for the first time.

In the meantime, we are taking catering requests for later this fall, the holiday season and 2025. Please bear with us as we might not be as quick to respond to emails but will be doing our absolute best to get back to everyone as soon as we can.

We are beyond excited for this new adventure, welcoming our tiny sous chef to the team and taking some of this time to really hone in some stuff for Northern Comforts future.

And from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who has continued to support our small business and our dream to make Northern Comfort a reality.

Pickled Red Onions are one of the tastiest little tangy accoutrements to add to anything! Salads, sandos, pizzas, grazing boards, rice bowls, gyros, tacos and sooo many other tasty ways. We always have a batch of these on hand because we love them soo much. 🧅

I feel like this place is slightly gatekept, or maybe people are just unaware because they have no website or online presence, But I feel like this treasure trove needs to absolutely be shared.

Anytime I’m back down in Rutland, I absolutely HAVE to stop into Steiger. They’re a super old school family owned restaurant supply warehouse tucked away in an old warehouse in the southside of town, just off Rt 7. They are soo old school they only take cash or checks and you get a HANDWRITTEN invoice/receipt, and they don’t have a website. You could get lost in this place as it winds with shelves full of restaurant wares and kitchen gadgets. As much as we enjoy shopping at other restaurant supply stores, this place almost always takes the cake with their customer service and prices. Definitely worth a drive to check this place out!

THE BLT 🤌🏻

Such a simple sandwich, but we feel like we’ve done it right. Garlicky & Herby Focaccia, bacon WEAVES, organic tomatoes & mixed greens with our savory roasted garlic aioli.

It’s a fan favorite for a reason, and was our best seller at markets last year! We had to bring ‘em back, not just because I’ve been craving one, but because we miss doing farmers markets this summer and wanted to feel like we were doing them again in a funny little way.

Testing a crispy tamari & gochugang marinated chicken moment for a Asian inspired take-out menu for sometime soon…👀

Chicken Thighs, marinated in some sesame oil, garlic, ginger, tamari & gochugang. Flour/potato starch with some nice spices. Kinda like chic-fil-a-y in texture, but has sooo much flavor. Tossing these in a nice sauce with some mushrooms, served with a side of rice & some garlicky chili crisp green beans. I’ll report back if it makes the cut or not! Love little test kitchen days and playing with food. 🫶🏻

This weeks menu was all gas, no breaks.

Best part was taking a day trip down to my secret lil spot I’ve been foraging ramps at for the last 10+ years. It’s always abundant and I’m thankful.

Creamy Ramp Chicken & Rice with Ramp Oil and Tiramisu are the stars of the line-up. Cooking things that I absolutely love to also enjoy, always shine a little brighter on the menu. ✨

Smoked Spicy Beet-Ginger Alaskan King Salmon Wings. Super crispy garlic & chili crisp green beans. White Rice.

This sauce is one of the best things I’ve whipped up in a pinch in awhile. Soooo Glazey.

Alrighty! Menu for next weeks situation is now LIVE.
Brought back the quiche & our blueberry coffee cake so your mom can have a nice breakfast.

Got our hands on some ramps to add a little bit of spring vibes to the mix, they’re one of my favorite wild foraged delights! Making a wicked delish chicken & rice moment that is more than enough to feed two. And tiramisu because it’s one of my mom’s favorites.

This Mother’s Day is a little different for us…as we are expecting a little sous chef in august! Some folks have known for a bit but we haven’t announced it here till now. We are super stoked to have our little dude join our team!

With that said, we do have some bittersweet news: we have decided to focus more on our catering gigs this summer and have put all farmers markets on the back burner for the time being. We were excited to have another go at another season, but our plates are pretty full, and so are our hearts as we prepare to enter this new chapter of our life. We might pop up once in awhile, and will keep you all updated here if we do. But in the meantime, we will be doing our lil weekly menu & local delivery, and giving all events our best attention. With that said, we are booking up for events for the summer and have a handful of dates left open for the taking!

We are looking forward to giving ya’ll all we got till I take maternity leave at the beginning of august, and will be back just in time for Halloween treats & the Holidays!

Howdy Gang!

Our lil spring break is ALMOST over, but in the meantime we are enjoying our extra time with lots of house projects, getting our garden in gear and of course enjoying some treats!

Our beloved brownies with a some R&D hot fudge to make some brownie sundaes? Yes please! We are thinking of offering the “Ultimate Brownie Sundae Kits” with our brownies, hot fudge, vanilla whipped cream to pair with your favorite ice cream in the future?
