I am approaching my 42nd birthday next Saturday. In furtherance of my quest for healing and serenity, I gifted myself an inversion workshop yesterday to spend some time upside down. Sometimes we need to look at things from a different perspective for clarity.

The amount of things I’ve been juggling professionally and personally has been so intense that I haven’t been able to publicly celebrate most of the good. There have been huge accomplishments for clients this year and myself professionally. I haven’t allowed myself to bask in it. Stress and sadness has overshadowed a lot of the good. We all have our ish.

I have to remind myself that diamonds are made under pressure 💎

Keeping it real though - with the influx of intensity in my life, I recognize that my ability to handle stress in healthy (verses unhealthy) ways directly impacts my work, my kids, my relationships with others and myself, and what I am manifesting.

Which brings me back to inversions. I could not master what I was hoping to master in one class. I wanted to be able to gracefully float into a forearm stand and handstand - and balance for a few breathes upside down. Turns out, you need incredible core and shoulder strength, as well as awkward proper technique, to float up, stay up, and float back down (as opposed to plop down). I can’t even float up independently yet. But I couldn’t do it.

I need to practice - a lot - and it will probably take many months to master as long as I am consistent. Successes don’t happen over night. Consistency is key.

Because I’ve been practicing and building muscle, my splits are better now 💪🏼

I’m going to be practicing a lot of things this year with more consistency. Mindfulness, gratitude, and love. I’m going to be more intelligent about what I put into my body and the energy in my space so that my mind and heart are in the best shape for staying on track. I want to be warmer, softer, and more present.

My kids are my driving force. Above everything else, I need to be the best version of myself for them.

Detoxing from 2022. Today is day 6 of celery juice. I took these pictures on day 1. I’m still eating normally and drinking coffee in the morning, although I’d like to cut that out too because I do feel dependent on it which is an unpleasant feeling. No alcohol consumption though. Maybe once in a blue moon, but that’s it. The goal is to clean out my liver and other organs from toxins built up over the years. They say that making one small change can result in a big transformation. I’ve made changes in the past that have been sustainable for years and life changing as a result. Like cutting out cow milk because of my son’s intolerance. And exercising. Before my kids, I didn’t really work out other than dancing on and off, and I had no idea about the terrible impacts of dairy. So I do know it’s totally possible to make permanent lifestyle changes and not hard to do. You just have to set your mind to it and do it! I’m looking forward to seeing how this lifestyle change affects me 🤞

Taking it one day at a time and trying to remember to pat myself on the back in the process. Last week I somehow churned out major film production agreements, talent agreement redlines, producer agreements, a side artist agreement, trademark stuff, consultations, new client intake, emails, handy guy trying to take care of stuff in house simultaneously, usual chores, the list goes on…. All with children not in school. Yes, there were client calls with children demanding, screaming and crying in the background. There were zooms with wet hair. Oh, and my phone died, so got to hang out in Apple and Verizon for hours with both kids. I still have a longer than Rapuntzel’s hair to do list. Today it was a 360 agreement, research, client calls, emails, etc. And next week there is no school. So this week I am cramming. And I’m speaking at a Film Conference on Saturday. I don’t know what I’d do without my support system who checks in on me and sends me love and encouragement on a daily basis. Thankful for clients who accept this mermaid lawyer mama in all her glory and struggles!!! If you have positivity memes, please send them my way! 4th quarter strong 💪🏼

Still high off endorphins after spending three days around hundreds of mermaids at with my team. It was such an honor to showcase our new Elite tails and receive such positive feedback from everyone who looked, touched, tried on and even swam in them during the Discover Fin Fun event at MerMagic Con. I loved meeting many new Mer-friends and seeing Mer-friends from last year. And the Miss Mermaid USA pageant was such a treat to watch!
