Cut some blooms last night and it felt so good to have flowers in my hands. Everything is coming along nicely! Just have to focus on keeping things cool the next few days. We are going to have flowers so soon! Back to weeding…it’s all I do out there lately.

The first flower of the season. It’s hard to describe the feeling I get when I see the first one emerge. It’s more like a mix of emotions- Excitement, relief, wonderment, nervousness. I feel like I can breathe easier knowing that they’re going to bloom, but then again I’m nervous because you never know what’s going to happen in farming. The flowers are so tiny right now, and it amazes me, year after year, how they grow 10x the size they are now in just a matter of weeks. This field is going to be bursting at the seams with so much beauty in a short amount of time, and it makes me so happy to think of all the places these flowers will travel to, how many smiles they might put on faces, or how they might pick someone up when they need it. Nature and flowers are truly a gift. I used to feel like I had so much riding on this season, but I’ve realized that the flowers will grow and be beautiful regardless. They don’t perform based on my business plans or ambitions, so I’ve stopped pressuring myself so much, and I’m learning to just enjoy the process all over again. 🌸

There are some winter days that I miss the flowers more than others. It’s not just the flowers. It’s the warmth of the sun and the smell of spring and summer. It’s seeing the swallows swooping through the air at dusk. It’s the excitement of running out to the field to see things blooming for the first time. It’s the process of cutting and making bouquets, hoping that they’ll make someone’s day. But every season here is essential to the next, so I’ve got to learn to sit tight and not rush it. Spring will be here soon enough! 61 days to be exact.

THANK YOU! Today was our last day at the market for the 2023 season, and you all sold us out.❤️ I can’t tell you what it means to me to see you walk away from our table with a smile. I’ve gotten to know many of you, who visit each week we are there, and it’s truly something special. Our customers are the absolute BEST. Thank you for supporting this mother daughter duo week after week. We can’t wait to be back next year!

Tomorrow will most likely be our last market of the season at the ! Since the nighttime temps have begun dropping, our flowers are slowing down, and getting ready to say goodbye. Come scoop up a bouquet tomorrow, because it could be the last time of the season!

It’s hard to believe that the change in seasons is here, and the flower field will be put to bed for the winter soon. Summer always seems to go by in a blink, but for some reason this year seemed faster. Maybe it’s because I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off 90% of the time, but that’s me. I’m either full throttle or 0 MPH. I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every second though. I grew new things, narrowed my focus, and I am so motivated for next year. I didn’t get to all of my goals for this year, but that’s ok and I’m still pretty darn proud. Excited to round out this year with some amazing flowers at the this weekend. We will be there as long as frost holds out! Thanks for supporting this little farm this season! ❤️ it means the world to me.

Want to give a shout out to my mama. This farm and the markets nearly wouldn’t function without her. And it certainly wouldn’t be as fun. She’s been by my side since day one here- cutting, arranging, setting up, breaking down, keeping me from breaking down 😂 and keeping me laughing along the way. I love you mom! Thank you for everything you do. You are SO appreciated.

Had so much fun putting together a flower bar for a special bridal shower ❤️ I was also a guest, so it was so much fun getting to see everyone get creative and create their own bouquets. Hope to do more of these in the future!

The flower field in its current state. What I see: Weeds sprouting up in pathways that I haven’t covered with landscape fabric, plants on the small side because of cold temps causing things to be put in the ground on the late side, more spaces that can be filled with direct sow seeds (time is running out). I beat myself up a little every time I come out here. At least there’s an adorable baby 🥰. What I SHOULD see: hundreds of seedlings that I started about three days postpartum, the effort it took to squeeze every scarce free minute I had into starting trays, the sheer miracle of getting everything in the ground despite being exhausted and listening to the echo of so many people telling me to take this year off or, “you’re STILL going to do your flower THING?”. Yes. I’m doing it. It’s not perfect, but I’m here, with this beautiful little boy in tow. Because like growing flowers, motherhood isn’t perfect. It’s tiring and your body hurts from the work you put into it. Somethings work and somethings don’t, but the reward is beautiful and fulfilling beyond words. I don’t often open up on social media, but I wanted to put this out there as a reminder to anyone who might be trying to juggle dreams and goals along with some other big piece of your life, like motherhood. You CAN do it. You just have to look beyond the weeds. Give yourself credit, because it IS due. And if you want to slow down and take the year off, you should do that too, but let it be your choice and don’t listen to anyone else. You’re a badass, and nothing can stop you from being good at being a mom and getting one step closer to your dream. ❤️

📣Tulip Bouquets are here! This week we are offering local delivery and farm pick up for tulip bouquets. The warmer temps from the last few weeks have pushed our tulips up a little early, and we have TONS. Scoop up a little sunshine this week. Local delivery includes the Merrimack Valley area and lower New Hampshire.

Hi guys! It’s been quiet on here for me during the off season- primarily because we welcomed our son, Finnley, into the world in March. ❤️ As a new mom, it’s admittedly been hard to juggle the demands of early spring flower farm prep, and a newborn, but I’m giving it the old college try! Can’t wait to introduce my son to the farm life and raise him here where I grew up.

Can’t wait to grow more dahlias this season! Pretty soon we will be taking ours out of storage to divide all of the Dahlia tubers that multiplied underground during the growing season last year. Did you know you have to dig up dahlias every year so they don’t rot from moisture or from freezing (in Massachusetts anyway)?

The farm in winter is still so beautiful,but I can’t wait for this to be filled with flowers again! Right now we are planning out why we will be planting for the year, expansion plans, and other exciting things that we are hoping that we will be able to offer at the farm.
