The Back Story of MoonRise Floral Design
Though I have always admired the beauty that flowers create, it wasn’t until 2010 when I was knee deep in grad school that I felt a pull towards the idea of farming. So, in 2013 I moved to Memphis, TN to explore the world of farming in the south. After working alongside farmers who grew gorgeous flowers, and then growing my own, I was hooked. Arranging flowers instantly became a passion of mine and I knew that it would stay with me forever. When our son was born we realized that family is essential to us, and moved back up north. After designing flowers for some friend’s weddings and events, I decided to finally turn this dream into a reality. Collaboration is one of my favorite ways to get to know people, which is part of the reason why I love working with couples to create the perfect floral design concept for their big day. While my hope is to be growing flowers on my own land someday, I strive to purchase from local flower farmers when the season is right to keep my business as local and sustainable as possible.
