Successful stall at the Jane Austen Regency festival in Alton this weekend! If you look closely there are a couple of new offerings for this year that I haven't announced on here yet. Check out my Etsy or keep your eye out for new product announcements 🧐

I had a spot next to so I got to watch her create beautiful hairstyles the whole time I was there. Looking forward to Bath in a few months time, I'm almost fully booked with custom orders but I may be able to squeeze in a couple more if you're quick!

Updated my shop banner, replaced the website lettering (which I did in a rush the night before the event- I took more time with the logo) and added some vintage lace to make it more unique! I took this to the Alton Regency Festival yesterday, I haven't gathered all the photos I need to post about that yet but it is upcoming 🕊️

The third of my 3-in-1 aprons was the most difficult- once it's done it's actually the easiest to construct but to translate the steps from words into actions was the most difficult!

It's basically one square of fabric with a ribbon tied at the waistline to catch the fabric in for the 'waist'. Then two ribbons are attached to either point to tie around the waist and the third point is pinned to the throat. You have to pull the fabric out a little as you tie the ribbon around it or it just looks like you've pinned a random bundle of fabric to your chest, but once you get the shaping right it's quite an attractive apron!

The second of my 3-in-1 aprons was a little trickier than the first. First, the 'bib is one of the new ones carried right up to the throat', and boy are they NOT kidding! The shortness of the neck band means that the apron is almost empire-line. I did consider making it longer so it sat at my natural waist, but following the vintage pattern as closely as possible won out in the end.

Luckily I did all of the vintage pattern deciphering, so you don't have to squint over the confusing article, you can just follow my handy step-by-step blog post, while still creating period-accurate aprons! If you'd like a PDF version of the pattern then I have it up on my Patreon and Etsy 🎁

The 3-in-1 apron tutorial is now available on my blog! Three apron patterns taken from an article in the 1886 edition of 'The Housewife'- link in description 🎁
~
This first apron has a tiny bib with large pockets. The pattern was very easy to follow, and any confusion was from me over- analysing the vintage pattern. I copied the embroidery design from the illustration included in the article and a book from 1899 called the 'Priscilla Cross Stitch Book' which had instructions on how to do the so-called 'Leviathan Stitch' (or 'star stitch' but leviathan stitch is SO much cooler!). An additional blog post of the behind-the-scenes of me deciphering the pattern is also in my description if you're interested!
