You may have noticed that I have been a little quiet on social media over the last few months. After deep consideration, I have decided to take a lengthy leave of absence from wedding planning. I plan to revisit the direction of Pumpernickel Planning during the Summer of 2022. At that point, I will let you know if we are back with some modifications or if this leave becomes a permanent decision.

Over the past 4 years, I have loved planning and working with my brides. Every single couple has added value to my business one way or another. We truly appreciate each and every one of them. However, the current climate of today has really changed how weddings happen and what a planner can bring to an event. It is because of this that I want to take some time to step back and evaluate how I want to approach the future of Pumpernickel Planning.

In the meantime, I wish you all the absolute best and can't wait to connect with you again next year.

What is a handfasting ceremony? I'm glad you asked!

According to brides.com "Handfasting is an ancient Celtic ritual in which the hands are tied together to symbolize the binding of two lives. While it is most often included in Wiccan or Pagan ceremonies, it has become more mainstream and pops up in both religious and secular vows and readings."

A Details Card is always a good addition to your invitation suite! Especially when COVID was in full force - it was important to communicate how you planned to manage the safety of your guests and mitigate your county's mandates. I, for one, am so glad to see things slowly getting back to normal!

Describing their wedding theme as 'Poe-ho' (Edgar Allan Poe meets boho), Morgan and Aristotle were married in February in Texas. The inspiration was dark and moody romantic with a hint of vintage flair. Almost all of the decor (the rugs, candlesticks, vases, lanterns, etc) were sourced from vintage....

I wanted to give a special shout-out to for capturing these amazing photos!

I started dipping my toe in invitation design about 6 months ago by participating in styled shoots. Every shoot I participated in was stunning and planned to perfection by my colleague planners; however, this is the first time I've received more than 2 images of my work from ANY of those collaborations. Not only that, but the photos turned out GORGEOUS! ⁠It's so great to see professional images of the hours of work I put into these designs.
