Some of the only one's I got relating to my boy's role on this page.
So much more can be said and I'll say it over time, as per the uzzzh. Until then, more love to you, my friend. Chris Cabanyog

Chris Cabanyog (RIP), Hooti, Me, and Katie Herberger's "WEIRD" license plate. My stickers on her window, my favorite, "DESTROY AMERICA," got a lot of press at the start of Operation Desert Storm. Oddly, I'll probably get in more trouble for even typing that phrase here on FB today than I ever could have when this picture was taken. So much for freedom and liberty.
Heaving heavy sighs for my ol' buddy, who's easy giggle and powerful chords always lifted me up, no matter the bu****it I was juggling.
I'm not the only one who's gonna miss that guy for the rest of my life.
Needs work, but that's the tribute I'm gonna get tattooed. When we were young'nz, I used to call him 97A, "CUZ HE WAS FAST AND HAAAARD!!!", but over the decades leading up to his passing a few days ago, I realize he was much more 85a in his way. Just sweet and soft on any substrate, staying smooth no matter the groove.
But I'm dawbing this into my skin either way.
85 or 97, I don't particularly care. This one's for Chris.
Rest in the power you always had, old friend. Your laugh, love, kindness and support over the years meant more than I ever got the chance to tell you more than a dozen times.
Thank you for your unwavering friendship and all the birthdays we shared. The every other nights belting it out at rehearsal. The hammock and the paintings.
We're gonna miss you, 97A.
Just got news that our dear friend and guitarist, Chris, has died. I am absolutely devastated and the only time I ever cried about him before was when he left the band in 1990.
He will be missed more than words can say. My Virgo brother. I love you so much.

Just met this cat in some Lookout Records group. After a buncha sharing Phoenix stuff with each other, he dropped this crazy s**t on me. Mind blowing, indeed. Odd how it all comes back around sometimes.
Go start a band. You'll be better for it.
*Oh, and as always, f**k the N***s & f**k the cops.
So much gratitude for this incredible mask by the clever 🙏 every time I look at this piece I get lost in it 🌀

Counting down the minutes until Captain Kirk leaves Earth for the first time, I'm reminded of something I said in 1988 in my first punk band. Teenage lyrics that ring relevant in the link.
Watching Captain Kirk shoot up into space on the Musk Bus reminded me of something I said in 1988:I've seen your buildings and I've seen you carsI've seen yo...
We played there a handful of times. I would "barback" for homeboy's "lemon drops" when I was only 18. I remember getting so hammered at an L7 show in those first few months that I walked out onto Madison, confirmed the after party, said cool, see ya there, pushed off 3 times on my skateboard and slammed face first onto the sidewalk. Suffice to say I don't recall the party down the street from my place on Lynnwood. I was blotto. But I had my fun there before moving to Oakland in September. Born Against/Rorschach was f**king earth shattering. Jawbox (Eddie was absolutely infatuated with that bass player). Engage. Bu****le Surfers. Etc. Glad to read this little piece on a place that was absolutely in the right place at the right time when so very few dared to be.
A look back at the famed venue's biggest shows and greatest punk =0rock moments.
1991
A moment to remember Eddie Hermanson, our fearless leader. And maybe 9 minutes of silence for George Floyd before you play this as loud as you can.
RIP to both of them.
who doesn't?? from the 1982 album "Soundtrack For Trouble"
Well well well, look who I found! Our old would-be guru, purveyor of warm Blatz beer, and fat spliffs...Fonz!!! This made my day. Glad to know he's still out there holdin' it down!
What was Fonz stopped for? Nothing really, like always. Cops dont like him.. He has F**k Police pai
Look what I found at the Firehouse restaurant/bar in Rapid City, South Dakota...ancestral home of Eddie Hermanson.
