This morning was a troop at Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis campus. It’s always great to hang out with The Dude, and see just how much the kids adore his show. It’s a great break from their individual daily experiences. I am always grateful for the chance to bring something a little bit exciting to all of them, even if it’s only through a screen (CM is REALLY good with keeping the kiddos out of germs’ way).

Today was the day to take my eldest to see Rogue One on the big screen for the very first time. We met some of our friends outside The Parkway Theater! (I will be trooping tomorrow for Children’s Hospital St. Paul, today was a family holiday) 🥰

Just an update today - things have been really busy in Life, and projects haven’t been that exciting in the working phase. Rest assured, there is a BIG one coming to the point where it WILL be interesting to post WIPs (I’m looking at you, Star Wars people).
In the mean time, enjoy today’s vintage MN North Stars pendant thrifted just prior to this photo.
Then more machine embroidery practice, scary alterations to my mother-in-law’s bunad, and the first upholstery gig I have attempted, in trade with good friends.

This is Lucky, a dear old friend of mine, AND an award-winning costume by a Star Wars costumer friend of mine.
Grummgar needs to stay out in the world being seen. Julian needs the room for his new passion project, and Lucky is the man to wear Grummgar in the world (he’s also a legit stunt person, so is uniquely qualified to wear this beast).

I spent Friday evening through Monday evening up at the , learning the basics of tablet weaving. Also, that I need to practice. Also, that pattern makers need to indicate their card orientation, not just the threading direction. And I need to practice.
