Ingrid and Kyle were the most gentle souls and the forest allowed us to capture their bond so delicately. While we used this maternity photography session to capture a moment in time. It was also a chance for the couple to reflect on their journey leading up to this place. In this forest, being surrounded by nature it felt safe and warm to us.

We have been capturing Vella’s moments over the first year of her life in a few different shoots, but today I wanted to share her 3 month session with you.

The fourth trimester is such a whirlwind. From leaving the hospital to figuring a way to live with lack of sleep like you have never experienced before. To fumbling around for your camera in every moment just wanting to remember every single detail of life with your brand new baby.

I just love the images of first born daughter completely in awe of her brother. She could not believe her eyes looking at his tiny toes and tiny fingers. She watcher her mom breastfeeding her brother with astonishment and could not even believe she was ever this tiny just a few years before the birth of her baby brother. Birth photography not only captures the birth moments but captures all the moments that surround this new family member’s arrival to this world.

A few years after their first child I was contacted again by Gouwah to document her second child. The plan again was for a natural delivery with the same doctor and hospital as before. And without a hitch Gouwah delivered the strongest little boy at 06:58 in the morning weighing in at just over 3kg.

When I told my kids that it was time to have our family pictures taken, you can just imagine the girls’ excitement! They got completely involved with planning our outfits and brainstorming ideas for the actual shoot. On the other hand, my son just wanted to climb rocks, collect shells and jump around like a wild thing… 😅 Boys will be boys!!!

If you’re one of my regular followers, you’ll know how much I recommend having your family pictures taken on a regular basis. My honest opinion is at least once every two years! And those two years go by so fast, so find a photographer to set you up in their reminder system and BOOK BOOK BOOK. You will never regret moments captured on camera, that I can guarantee!

⭐️ IMAGE OF THE MONTH!!! ⭐️ Even though this image seems really simple, for me the magic lies in the subtle emotive nuances that aren’t that noticeable at first glance:

He is brand-spanking-new, and yet the bond between this gorgeous little boy and his mother is so evident. Every touch, every look, every moment is just bathed in pure love! His delicate little hand grasping her shoulder conveys such dependence. Such fragility and innocence. And even though you cannot see her whole face, you can tell that she’s beaming down at him with such unadulterated, unconditional pride and adoration.
