IAM creates a welcoming q***r space where issues of faith, sexuality and q***rness are explored through the personal stories, realities and embodied experiences of q***r bodies of faith. As part of Cape Town Pride, IAM hosts this q***r advocacy space to not only celebrate q***rness and the gains we have made, but to share the stark reality that our progress is but a drop in the ocean of religious-instigated q***r phobia, pushback, embodied trauma and consistent Invisibalization of q***r faith realities.

This year, we are honoured to welcome two individuals from URCSA who will share their personal journeys—stories of pain, trauma, and marginalisation within the church. This open conversation invites all who seek deeper understanding, with the hope of inspiring meaningful dialogue within URCSA and its congregations. We especially encourage clergy, lay leaders, q***r people of faith, parents of q***r members, and allies to join us in listening to these heartfelt stories.
Together, let’s create space for healing, reflection, and change.

The intention of our order, The Veil, is to create a reformed space for love that does not rely on conventional notions associated with the Feast of St Valentines to blossom. Instead of chocolates, we feast on each other and the decadent divinity of techno.

An informal gathering where proud pooch parents will be promenading their pets on a fun walk to Sea Point Pavilion and back. We had so much fun last year, we're doing it again.

You don't have a furry friend? Not to worry, the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa will be bringing along some of their lovely rescue animals to perambulate with you. Who knows, you might be going home with a new friend!

Meeting Point: The field behind Green Point Lighthouse in Mouille Point. It's about a 2 hour stroll to Sea Point Pavilion and back, and you can join at any point en route

This bird walk is here for q***r and BIPOC birders and our allies, to explore and enjoy nature in a safe(r) space. 🙏🏼

Whether you’re an experienced birdwatcher, or wondering what the duck this niche hobby even entails: join us coming Sunday February 9th in 💜 Guided by fabulous bird expert from we will discover and learn more about the feathery creatures that call the garden their home 🦆🌈
